This is a bit complicated so I'll explain as clearly as possible. My shop name is FreshHeirloomSeeds .
When somebody, let's say as a search result, is looking at just One Single listing of mine, there are several places on that One Single listing that has my shop name displayed, under the listing "Title", under the "Item Details Highlights", and under "Meet your Sellers".
OK at just One Single listing of mine, if you click on my shop name under the Item Details Highlights and under Meet your Sellers, then ALL 47 of my listings show up (on 2 pages), IN THE ORDER that I arranged them.
BUT if you click on my shop name under the listing Title, ONLY 41 items show up (on 2 pages) and NOT in the order that I arranged them.
I put their arrangement in a certain order for a reason, so what I consider to be the best, show up on page #1.
WHY are all 47 listings NOT showing up when my shop name under the listing title is clicked?
And why are they NOT showing up in my arranged order when my shop name under the listing title is clicked?
Is it some Etsy glitch that they are not aware of that needs to be fixed?
Any Etsy representatives who read this would be great if Etsy in not aware of this problem.
P.S. For ease of anybody reading this, you can see what I mean easily, click on my shop name from this thread, then click on any single listing, and then at that single listing, click on my shop name under the listing Title and you will see that all items are Not in the same arrangement and that all 47 items are not showing up.
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR YOU ANSWERS AND POTENTIAL HELP.
@FreshHeirloomSeeds Relevance has always worked that way. If the buyer looked at a single listing and entered your shop by clicking your shop name on that listing, they'll be shown all the related listings. Just like I was shown all the apple listings.
It's also how a regular Etsy search works (or doesn't work). The system will show you what they think you want to see.
The problem tho is that not all of your listings show up when the system shows the buyer relevant listings.
When I go to your shop, I see 47 listings.
As far as order, I have the normal button that lets me sort ... custom, most recent, highest price, etc.
You can use sections to help customers see listings in different ways. Sections help when a store has quite a few listings.
Nice store.
YES, it only happens from any One Single Lisiting. You can see what I mean easily, click on my shop name from this thread, then click on any single listing, and then at that single listing, click on my shop name under the listing Title and you will see that all items are Not in the same arrangement and that all 47 items are not showing up.
When someone found one of your listings in a search and then clicks on your shop name on that listing, they'll see your shop in ''relevance'' view.
When they click on your shop name, for example, while here in the forums, they'll view your shop as you arranged it, as ''custom''. This is how I viewed your shop at first, custom. I then clicked on an apple listing and clicked on your shop name under that listing's title. My view was now changed to relevance and all 10 apple related listings are shown first, followed by a mix of the rest of your listings.
But you're correct. While viewing 'relevance' I only see 41 listings. Two that I can tell are missing are the mixed 50 color lily seeds and the mixed 50 color dragon rose seeds. Changed it to 'custom' and I can see 47 listings. "Most recent'' view also shows all 47.
You're not using shop sections, so (wild guess here) maybe it would help fix the problem?
Thank You, after I posted, I realized the "relevance" and "custom" view thing.
Etsy should just have all clicks on a shop show up as the "custom" view. Thank You again
OK, after reading your last post, I understand and it makes sense. If someone is looking at apple and they click, it shows them apples because of relevance. Yes, that is probably the best way for the buyers point of view. Thank You once again.
When I follow your directions, go to your shop, I see all 47 items and they are sorted by CUSTOM, which is how you set it.
When I click on a listing (second in the first row), I go to your shop name from the listing and click on it to go back to your homepage, then it is sorted by RELEVANCE. I still see 47 listings.
Your custom sort is when you first come to the shop, but within the shop looking around and clicking through, it changes to relevance. It's always been like that as far as I remember.
Thank You, I wish every shop name click would just show up as "Custom" being that's how I set it up to be viewed. Thank You again
You're welcome. I have to say though, that I have clicked everyway you can on a variety of your listings and every single time, when I go back to your homepage through the listing, whether Custom or Relevance (so when in relevance mode, click on another listing and then go back to the homepage from that), and it's always saying 47. I thought maybe it would be different if it was the pumpkin listing, vs an iris listing, but not once have I seen it say 41 for me.
@PoochandTabby Yes, I see ''search all 47 items'' in the shop's search box when on relevance view. But if you count the listings showing on both pages, there are only 41.
Thank You again, Yep, it "says" 47 under relevance, but when I count, sometimes 41 are actually there on 2 pages and sometimes 42.
I just noticed, that when Etsy displays my listing by "Relevance" only 41 show up and they are out of order, BUT if I click on "Custom" them all 47 show up in the proper order.
I don't understand it and a potential buyer should not have to click on the "Custom" view to see all my listing in my preferred order.
The solution is easy and Etsy can fix this easy. If a seller has set up a "Custom" page arrangement, then on Any click on the sellers shop name anywhere in the listing, the sellers shop Should Automatically show up as the "Custom" view and NOT the "Relevance" view.
Having a sellers shop show up as a "Relevance" view kind of defeats the purpose of a seller setting their shop up with a "Custom" view arrangement.
I'm afraid Etsy is not going to change it, it is what it is. Do you think shoppers would look at each one of your listings if they saw all 47? I'm not trying to be mean but if you had sections and they were interested in Heirloom Iris seeds, they could click on that section and see them all in the order you have on the shop page.
@LynnsLittleShop I agree about using sections. However, when you click on a section, the listings are shown in the ''most recent'' view, not custom.
Thank You.
