100 Free Listings Disappared

I redeemed 100 Free listings to my store via etsy.com/promotions and I have listed 4 listings free via that promotion. But today when I tried to post my next listing the promotion I had redeemed was gone from my account. Is there a way to get that back? I had 96 more free listings and now it's no longer shows on my listing dashboard which is pretty sad

I don't remember where I got the link but I was pretty sure it was emailed or messaged to me from Etsy. I don't surf anywhere else where it would have been. I messaged Etsy asking about it, and they said it was only for new sellers, which is why mine were removed (I opened my shop 5 years ago). I don't understand why Etsy wants to support only new sellers and not their long term sellers. I was all set to post a bunch more than I usually do on Etsy, but I will put them in my eBay store instead.

This is exactly the gripe I have with my landline phone company with whom I've been a customer since 1979.

They send out promos to new customers, but do I ever get a break in my wallet? Like a discount for having been a loyal customer for 43 years?

My 3 year old shop got the email link but not the year old shop !  Both shops now have the free 100 listing back!

Correct. It wasn't for new sellers, it was for multi-channel sellers.

After 11 years of spending a lot of money on Etsy listing, it's past time for them to give something back considering that I have contributed to Etsy's success over all those years. $20 is nothing to give away but picking and choosing is gross and unethical. I had no idea that it was a "not supposed to do" thing when I saw the coupon I used it innocently considering that Etsy has made $104 from me so far this month that $20 would have come back to them 10x fold had they allowed us to keep it. I got 25 listings from it until they removed it from my shop, letting us keep the listing would have been beneficial to them I would have posted more products to put on the market faster because I have close to 300 new items in my back pocket but I piece them out according to what I make per day. 
Nothing new to see here, we live under corporate rule gotta make sure the shareholders get their money first to hell with the people creating the product to line their pockets with gold, they can eat cake.

I was just curious why some shops got the 100 free listings? Does Etsy just randomly pick certain shops, or is it for star sellers, or for shops that have been opened for a long time? That's great to those of you who got them! I hope you all get them back!

I would also like to know the criteria etsy used to give this offer to some shops but refuse it to all others. I was made aware of it by another shop I communicate with who saw something about it on facebook. If etsy wants to offer freebies or extras to a reserved group they should make it clear there are restrictions in using it. When I went to the promo page to get the free listings I did not see anything that even suggested it was for a designated group of shops or by invitation only. I claimed them, used 4 and now they're gone. I know the 100 free listings only amounts to saving $20 as some have pointed out, but every little bit helps especially when your sales come sporadically. I can understand why etsy may try to motivate new shops to open by offering some new listings but don't think it's really fair to offer free listings to some existing shops and not all. We all pay the same listing fees so what is the justification to give some the free listings and not others? Unless they are paying some additional fee that we are not shouldn't we all have the same opportunities here?

This has been a depressing debacle. I know, I know it's only $20 worth of fees but it's been such a hard year. I feel like I'm grinding my teeth just to milk out one sale  every few days.

And I think the free listing offer  expired in August, so how many would use all 100 free listings?

With bad/sad RL stuff, this was a nice little motivation and diversion to get a few new items listed.

Maybe nice way to soften the listing fee raise that may be coming in the near future ????? I have seen, read, of lots and lots of shops with sales basically in the toilet and not just here. Mine is not doing that great but summer time its always slow and this one is more back to normal than in the last 2 years. I got them also yesterday, but today gone, another one of Etsy botched job, they really have to keep up their rep now dont they. ???

Why are some getting it or entitled, while others are left out?

To those that are asking why some got it. Here's partly what it said;

Multichannel sellers sometimes tell us that setting up listings on Etsy can be time consuming. They may have items they’re ready to list, but just haven’t found the time to add to their Etsy shops.

If this sounds familiar, we’d like to help!

First, we’re giving you 100 free listing credits to help you make your unlisted products available on Etsy.

So if you are not a multi-channel seller, this will be why you didn't get it. Etsy want people to list on Etsy rather than list on their other sales channels.

That’s interesting and different from the explanation I was given by Etsy support. When I inquired about why my credits disappeared an Etsy representative emailed me indicating as follows…”Unfortunately, due to unauthorised sharing of the 100newforEtsy free listing promo code, we have deactivated the promotion as these credits were reserved for a specific group of new Sellers”.

For new sellers

For multichannel sellers

For sellers who participated in a survey.

the usual Etsy back-peddling, to cover up their mistakes, and that's nothing new. There are sellers reporting here that they actually did receive this invite, who are not "new" sellers, so there is more to this whole debacle than we will ever know...

what is done is done and it's the usual =Etsy messed up - something that Etsy is well known for, and does very well...

I have filled out numerous surveys sent by Etsy, and they usually contain the question "do you sell on other sites, and if so where?".

So it may be that the code was sent to people who A) fill out surveys that allow Etsy to get answers to this question, and, whittling it down further, B) who answered this question in the affirmative and were given this bonus to list their items here.
