Hi there! My name is Sab and I'm a designer from Philippines. I joined Etsy few months back (around November 2018) and closed it down after a month because of sales but now after few encouragement from friends, I decided to open it again and include NEW products such as button pins, shrink pins and a pre-order to my first ever enamel pin!
I need shop critique to help me improve!
My shop
Thank you :)
Nice pins. My suggestion. Sell them in sets of 5 of related designs. Photo a person wearing them like scatter pins. Price accordingly.
Good Luck!
Thank you! I will try that :)
Congratulations, you have some nice designs!
The first thing about your shop that strikes me is the big banner shop image. It's a lovely photo of your illustration, but I look at this and I think " she is an illustrator" not "she sells badges." And (yes, of course you are an illustrator, and a good one too I think!) but because here you are selling badges, I think you need to be really clear about the product you are selling : the buyers need to look at this and instantly think "I can buy badges here". I think you need to add some photos of the pins/badges into that image, maybe scattered on the left, maybe on a white background, then reset your name and social info around them?
I also agree with RetroDoDa,
photo of them being worn
photo of being held in hand so you can see size easily, are both good.
As far as the pins themselves: are you selling them in the real world- did you try to sell them in shops or markets? This type of real-world feedback - not just from friends, but from people who don't know you- can be really helpful. I understand that is hard to do at first, and puts you outside your confort zone, but it's worth it, and this type of real- world feedback will really teach you what people want, and what they want to see more of, and you will grow and learn faster than you ever expected. Good luck!
Thank you for this! I'll take a good photo of my pins / badges and make it as a cover photo. As for the pins, yes I'm selling it also in bazaars / art markets and partner stores and I do receive a lot of feedback from it!
By the way, it took me 6 weeks to get my first sale: it seemed like my shop was invisible for weeks! So don't be too disheartened if you don't see immediate results!
Oh wow! Thank you for the advise, i'll take note of it :)
