OOPS!  My fault.  I made a typo on the the actual link.  (Recovering from a head cold so excuse me being daft.)

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Now I got it.  Great clean site.

What was really great was when I clicked on one of your vintage jewelry pins, there was a wonderful review.  Fabulous!  So even tho buyers cannot leave a review on our pattern site, the reviews from the marketplace that are applicable to that particular item are actually showing up on the pattern site.  I know etsy SAID they were going to do this, but I did not realize that it was actually happening.

Once again, Fabulous site.  Looks really good!  Congrats!

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

I thought I had posted my pattern site long ago as I jumped on the bandwagon as soon as it was offered. I use Trellis, as I like the emphasis on sections.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Wow! @romaarellano! I have always envied your shop in the marketplace, but your pattern shop even out does that one! You are right, Trellis, seems to really make your items pop. You are very gifted with your photography and your descriptions are beautifully written.  You can tell that you painstakingly take your time with both.

Thanx for sharing.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Thank you @AtMemoryLane I have tried other designs but ever since the beginning, Trellis' focus on collections has been perfect. I've had to tweak my sections as I would find some were quite anemic, and I think I still have one more section I can use (although now I'm not certain about that). What I like about it most is that it also helps guide my buying. As you know, we vintage folks could sell every thing we find, if we let ourselves. I like your focus on Milk Glass. I think that has really become popular this past couple of years. I love it, especially when you group them by color as you do.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Wow!  What a great site.  Welcome to the dark side of Etsy.  I have no pointers, but I sure could take a couple from you.  I love the pink background.  You are very, very talented and crafty.  I am really just so impressed with your creativity.

Good Luck!  I truly hope you do well.

You will get hoards of naysayers about pattern, so be ready for the negativity.  It flows freely and frequently.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

AtMemoryLane,

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! I have already heard plenty of naysayers for Pattern loll. But it was super easy to build and thankfully it includes the standard shipping and tax setup. I don't want to have to set that up myself so I am happy to have Etsy handle it!

Could you clarify something for me? I think I am a fan of Pattern lol, but I am very confused about the fees.. I understand it is $15 a month, but when you sell a listing on Pattern, do they still take 6.5 percent? I've heard yes and no.. If they don't, I can see why people like Pattern, but if they still take the same fees I am a little at a loss as to what the pros are to Pattern. Besides the prettyness lol! I love how it looks.

Thank you!

Carolyn

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

I could Possibly be wrong on this as I haven't checked in awhile, but I'm pretty sure if you make a sale from your Pattern site, you only pay the payment Processing fee, which I believe is 3.5%.

Congrats on your new Site! Best of wishes!!

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

The only fee is the credit card processing fee, not the 6.5% transaction fee. No listing fee either.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

I ditto, @romaarellano, you only pay for credit card processing fee.

As for the shipping and taxes - if I understand your question, Yes, there is nothing different for you to do on pattern.  Etsy will still take care of the tax payments to the various states and the shipping is the same.  If you use another shipping service (like Pirate Ship), they also treat your pattern sales the same as they would your etsy sales.

Understand that your transactions and convos on pattern DO affect your star seller badge.  In other words, your sales are taken into consideration in the tally, as is the convo requirement.  Since there are no reviews on pattern, there is nothing to consider there.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

I'm brand new to Pattern and still working through all that needs to be set up.

My store is: https://www.tripleecrafter.com/

Trellis Theme

#1 question!!!  Where is the best place to advertise your shop? Do you share with social media?  Or, did you pay a website to do it for you?

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

@EEECrafter Nice shop!

I tend to post all of my new listings on social media (mostly FB).

I would suggest you do some of your own marketing before you pay someone, just so you know what you're paying for.  There are a lot of places that charge a lot of money for very little, so it's good to have a little knowledge going in. If you find you'd rather pay someone, then you'll know what you need and have an idea what it should cost.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Hi! My new Pattern shop is https://www.tripleecrafter.com

Question!  Should the Web Property ID (Analytical code) be the same in both Etsy and Pattern?  Or, did you use 2 different codes?

@EEECrafter Since this thread is really just about posting your website, and since you've already posted your website, please feel free to start a new thread for your question.  You will probably be more likely to get a reply.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

I have just created my Pattern site:

http://www.TotesiDesign.com

1 It took 3 minutes to get my listings transferred. 🙂 This is a huge time saving compared to ECWID or Shopify. The navigation and setting up is much better than the fancier bells and whistles sites.

2. You can manage all orders and inventory from the Etsy app.

3. No 6.5 % fee.

4. Don't need to set up another payment processor.

5. I can build my brand with more flexibility over design and using my own domain name.

6. I can add more info in ABOUT, add a blog and a gallery.

7. You can easily adapt listings' descriptions and headings to be more SEO friendly.  You can do this within your listings on the Etsy app.

8. The whole look and navigation is better than my Etsy Shop. I can make my colors pop with a black background.

9. You can link Google Analytics.

10. If you add the chrome browser for Pinterest, it is easy to pin.

I am very surprised how enjoyable the experience has been and very pleased with Pattern.

@TotesiDesign Black doesn't always work for a background, but in your case, I agree that it makes your items stand out more.  Nice site!

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Your quick feedback is appreciated. 🌸

By the way, I can see the  Pattern orders in the old Etsy app but not the new app.

I can't find the Etsy email address for sellers  to contact Etsy about this issue. When I press the contact button it only sends me to help articles by topic.

I want to contact Etsy about their new app, as migration to the new app is soon and I can't see my Pattern Orders today. Maybe a glitch?

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

@totesidesign - I just checked the new app today and none of my "Pattern only" listings even show up in it. I have a feeling we can't use the new app for Pattern:-(

Use the "Contact Us" button under "Community and Help" on the Shop Dashboard. There is a Pattern category under "Manage my Shop and Listings". I was able to get a reply to some of my questions that way.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

My website is: www.thumbwickminis.com. I'm using Trellis. I'd really like opinions if people think my banner is too busy? I was considering buying a banner and theme somewhere, to use for both my Etsy and Pattern sites, because I think I kind of stink at making them myself, but I'm not sure where I could buy one that would be inexpensive and easy to apply by a doofus like me.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

@Thumbwick

You've got some great items!  I don't think your banner is too busy.  I will say I was a little distracted by it being cut off on the left hand side, but otherwise, I thought it did a good job of easily letting people know what your shop was about.

But if you decide to buy a banner, there are lots of sellers on Etsy that specialize in them, so they know exactly what size and format you need.

Re: Post Your Pattern Website

Thanks for your impressions! Can you clarify what you mean by my banner being cut off on the left side? If you mean the picture on the lower left with the bathroom fixtures, then I agree I should try to adjust that. If the whole banner is being cut off for you, I'm not seeing that in preview with either the full screen or the smartphone layout. I'm viewing on my laptop with Edge browser. I'll check what it looks like in Chrome, just to be sure.

I just meant the photo.  Or at least, that's what it seemed to be from my point of view.

But I just looked again, and it looks like you've changed it.  I like it!  And it looks good.
