I just heard Rush talking about the CPSIA. I don't think he mentioned it by name, but he was talking about the children's motorbikes that will be pulled because of lead in the engines, and mentioned library books. Still listening.
Well said ArtisticallySpeeking.. Rush is all about informing people about what is going on in our country.. hummm... 8 billion dollar stimulus package signing -vs- cpsia
I think his time is being devoted correctly for today. Someone should call him tomorrow...
Yup...if you don't think he is spending enough time discussing CPSIA, let him know. A flood of CPSIA emails WILL get his attention and he will discuss it further.
I like Rush to :) I think it is a great idea for each of us to email him about the effect this law will have on us, hundreds of email will get his attention. Also his Friday shows are open to any topic the caller wants to discuss (yes he has a screener) so that may be a good day for a lot of people to try to call in about this.
I just emailed him and I think trying to call him on a Friday would be a good idea (as I mentioned in the other thread - he takes public call topics on Fridays).
I agree with muddy - if he gets enough pokes on his shoulder about this subject ... he will definitely discuss it further; and the other talk-radio hosts will pick up on it too.
I did send him an email in Jan. regarding the CPSIA, but I suspect the "Porkulus Bill" took precedence over it. More emails and calls can't hurt. I would like to see more coverage soon.

Right on. And to add to that, the bill was sponsored by 4 Democrats. The proposed amendment that could help save our business is supported by 4 Republicans. __________
Before we start pointing partisan fingers you might want to take a look at who voted for the bill. It was overwhelming on both sides of the aisle.

Most signed it(CPSIA), true, which further illustrates the absurdity of Washington. I worked on many congressional campaigns back in the 90's, and was told by more than one house rep/senator, that they rely on aides to read, and they usually only read the "summary".
Truth is, whether Bush wanted to sign it or not, it was veto proof, he really had no choice.

Welcome to the revolution...comrades. __________
Oh, so Bush didn't WANT to sign it? ____________________________________
That's not what I typed, as you can see. Please re-read. Please.
My local newstation did a very short piece on CPSIA just a minute ago. It only covered motorbikes. They interviewed a motorbike salesman. It stated that the motorbike industry is working with the State Attorney General to get an exception. Why oh why don't any of them mention library books, clothes and charities. Those are the type of things that get people angry. It's SO FRUSTRATING!
PlaidFuzz says So, instead of bringing it to the public's attention he just caved and signed it? Nice. ____________________
Actually he tried to bring it to the public's attention as did the director of the agency who is supposed to enforce it, Nancy Nord. Of course the media reported it as he was against a law that would make our children safer and Senator Boxer demanded he fire Nord. After that who was going to not vote for it?
Hey--I just wanted to come back and say sorry about the dirt bike reference. I'm a girl. :-D
Anyway, sorry if anyone took offense. It's all ridiculous, of course, and it is bad for every small business that is affected. I just meant, it makes more sense to talk about baby booties, since it is less like that a baby booty has lead than a dirt bike.

Sounds like typical Washington pass the buck. Its no wonder nothing productive gets done, no one can cross party lines on a craft message board, let alone in congress.
Oh, so Bush didn't WANT to sign it? ************* Nope. He did not support it. __________

It's not like the media would pass along his dire warnings about an over reaching bill. Look at the fuss people have raised about the bailouts, and the porkulus, to no avail. I think we've trained the government by constantly wailing about for them to DO something, help us, take care of us, pretend you care. People don't think their politicians CARE unless they DO something. Well, we got what we trained them to do.
