Product belongs to multiple sections - to duplicate or not to duplicate ?

Hello fellow Etsyers! :)

I have an issue I've been fighting with for quiet some time now, without the ability to make a decision that I'm happy with --- I have some products that belongs to 2 distinctly different sections, which serves 2 very different types of customers, and since I cannot assign 2 sections to one product, I was considering to duplicate that product and assign each the right section.

For example, I want to sell the following product under the section 'Wedding Bouquet' and 'Home Decoration'.

I think visitors that are looking for wedding bouquet's won't search under a section 'Home decoration' and vice versa. So I'm worried I'm going to lose customers because of that.

Moreover, duplicating the item will allow me to specify/personalize the title/tags/description to each set of visitors (even tho it is the same product).

I'm sure most of you have already run into this issue, and was wondering what are your thoughts about this.

So - to duplicate or not to duplicate, that is my question.

Duplicating is great, I just like to be certain I have enough of the item made so that I don't confuse myself with the listings.

Sounds good but just be careful to watch your inventory..if one sells make sure you adjust taking both listings into consideration. Might get confusing if you have multiple listings.

I would do a title like Wedding bouquet, Home decoration...... then in the listing put a link to the second section but list in the more popular section....use tags for both.

So...and I should take this advice myself.

Create one like you have home decor....and a second under wedding...with distinct wedding photos with.

I think it's more important to put the appropriate keywords in the titles and tags. Many sellers have 2 or even more listings of the same item, and change the first photo and order of keywords in title to see which listing performs better in search or - like you - to attract a different type of buyer.

As long as you can make several of the items, you can make as many listings of them as you need.

I have a crochet pattern listed in 3 different ways, with 3 different color photos (same item, just made from yarn of a different color). It's curious to see which color gets more attention :)
