How often do you list items?

I'm curious how often everyone lists items, whether it be new, repeat or relisted items. How often do you list?

Do you notice a difference in views or sales when you list more or less frequently?

Between new items, renewed items, and renew sold items, I probably list 8-10 things a day (more if I sell a lot :)) I list at least 2 brand new things every day. I do notice it does help with views, but if I go one day without listing as much, views aren't impacted greatly right away, but if it's a few days, then yeah, I can tell. :) :)

I would be willing to bet that in part it depends on what you are selling. I try to list new things each week. Some of my items are OOAK, so when they are gone, they are gone. I'd love to expand on my categories - and have lots of new ideas, but I've only had time to keep up with orders.

I stopped renewing items. It didn't seem to be bumping my views up anymore. I do notice jumps in my views and sales when I list more frequently.

I try to list 1-2 items a day, a minimum of 7 a week. I haven't sold much so I can't count much for auto relists, and I haven't relisted anything yet since I'm still adding my stock to the shop. If I don't list for a couple days, I definitely since a decline in views!

I just posted in another tread about a similar topic.

I try to re-list 2 to 3 times a day, spaced out. I also sometimes re-list different items from my shop that attract different customers at the same time because people find my items in several of the Etsy's categories.

I've notice 2 trends:

1) People don't buy immediately, they normally give themselves several hours or days to think it through. I've noticed that when I re-list items, I get a lot of fav'd listings and 2 to 3 days later I see the same people buying the items they've fav'd the days before.

2) Another trend I've noticed, when I re-list a popular item from my shop, it immediately shows up on first page of the Etsy's front categories (ex. if I re-list a popular men's wallet, I can see it on first page in the men's section under men's wallets).

I try to relist 3 items a day, and add new items every week (however this depends on how much time I have.)

But I often wonder...I once heard that relisting doesn't really help with visibility anymore...not since Etsy changed started to focus on optimized keywords? Any word on that?

Wow people are listing way more than me. I only list when I have new items. Sometimes once a month, sometimes more often and as items sell they get resisted. Are other relisting an item that hasn't expired? I can see that helping views but I think for me it would eat up way tooth into my profits. I seem to have had more luck with working on promoting in teams and coming up with ideas for what people might be searching for and making those ideas come to life.

For me it ebbs and flows. One of my goals for February was to list 1-2 new items everyday (plus auto-renewals for sold items) until I got to 100 items. Well, doing so had the desired effect and I ended up having so many sales I haven't been able to keep up with making and listing new items. I've only listed 2 in the past week. Now, of course, sales have slowed, so once I catch up on orders I will likely have time to make and list more new things. (And then hopefully that will help things pick back up again!)

I guess I should be listing items more frequently. I list a few times each week. Sometimes I renew items that have not yet expired. I see a difference in views, but I don't have many sales, yet. Maybe if I list something every day I'll get to the 100 items mark and start selling. :-)

Wow, I'm impressed that there are so many listing daily or multiple items daily. Now I feel like a slacker. I have been listing in spurts. I'll list like 10 items at once and then not list for a week or more, then list more and wait. I guess I need to just make draft listings and let them trickle in. I hadn't really thought about it until recently that I might be setting myself up for waves of views as opposed to a constant stream of viewers. I think I'm going to have to change up my approach to listing and see what happens.

Wow! People list way more then I do. I'm going to have to get busy!!! I try to do a few items per week, and that is for two shops! My second being vintageBettyLuke. I'm finding it easier as I go, but for my vintage shop, I feel the need to write info on each product, that I don't always have the answers to. Then there is some research that goes with it.

I create a bunch of items, photograph them all at once, type up draft listings, then list once a day until they run out (then I start the process all over again!). What helped me this month was that I created a destash section in my shop. When I didn't have time to sit down and create new things, I photographed some supplies I don't need and listed those (one a day). It helped boost my inventory and keep my shop visible. I listed a handmade item early this morning and promoted it on a few teams. I left my house at 7:30 am, came home just before 10 and I already had 58 views, which is more than half my daily average. I think today is going to be a good day. :)

Man, you daily listers and renewers are rockstars! I list new items probably twice a week, and I have a bad habit of only renewing sold items or ones that expire.

I only opened my shop a few weeks ago so I've been experimenting but I have noticed renewing listings more frequently has made a huge difference.

I didn't think it mattered as much with the new way Etsy shows items in searches, but I have noticed that a newly listed item will be in the first few pages and older items in much later pages.

At first I was only listing when I had new items and for two weeks I had no sales, then last week I started listing one item every 2 hours and suddenly I've had a sale every day. Renewing definitely makes a difference in sales.

I guess it depends on what you are selling, I'm in the jewelry category which is VERY competitive.

Every day, as I sell. but often list new things. and after a few hundred items, something always gets expired too, so i re-list those..

Depending on where I am in my cycle, if I have finished a few styles then I will list 2-3 bags per week. However, my turn around time can be from 3 days to 2 months depending on how long it takes to get my hides and whether I have the hides custom dyed for me.

I don't list much in January. I notice additional traffic when I have new items, or when I make a bag that was great for me and re-list it.

For me, I've been trying to list 3 items every three days. Typically it's create/design photograph (with natural light permitting) and then post all at once, and blog, blog, blog.

I have to admit it takes a lot of time for me to list items. So for all of you that post on a daily basis you rock! Maybe one day I'll get to be that efficient .
