Search results> Please help.

This is a technical question. I will do my best to explain what I mean.

When a potential buyer searches for something (either from a search engine or within the etsy site), what are they searching, your keywords or your titles of your items? I have read that titles and keywords are both important for bringing in appropriate viewer but does anyone know how it works?

Am I being a bit naive?

Many thanks for any help

Angela

Re: Search results> Please help.

The titles and tags in your items are the keywords that are picked up providing that's what the buyer typed for their search.

As a seller, when you use the same keyword phrases in title, tags and description it helps put you higher in the relevancy search results, which is the default on Etsy. You have to think like a buyer when adding keyword phrases to your titles and tags.

Re: Search results> Please help.

Oh....i think I see.

So if for example I put 'ceramic camera coaster' in my title and description and in different combinations within my keywords a buyer is more likely to find it if they typed in something similar than if I just put it in the keywords or title alone????

Is that correct?

Thanks for advice!!!!
