Aw. :-( Certain times of the day are pretty quiet here. In another 3 hours or so it will start to get busier.

Alas I don't have a huge amount of time for chit chat since I have to run the website which is getting busier all the time. I do hope someone will pop in for a chat with you soon though.

Hi I'm junquete and just stumbled on this thread, hope I'm not intruding.
I'm a big Betty Boop fan and what ever else crosses my path in a day.
I also like recycling when and where and what I can.
Probably silly but I make old shoes into purses.
Anyhow it's been fun to go through your shops and get to sort of know you.

Hello, I am Rhonda. Nice to meet all of you. I have a little thought that I can't help but share. I was excited to join this team because it sounded interesting and there are lots of members. However I am surprised by the lack of views and comments that out team treasuries are getting. With this many members and the purpose of this team I would have thought that things would have been a bit different. I will keep trying to post and comment and maybe others will too.

Hi everyone! Lovely to have a simple chat thread.


Optic, team treasuries are no longer permitted here. We only have LUSH treasuries which are made up of items from the website http://www.etsylush.com The reason being is that the emphasis of this team is on marketing outside of Etsy, not on Etsy itself.

The Treasuries threads were taking up a huge amount of time trying to moderate and check all the time and because we would rather spend this time driving traffic to your stores from outside of Etsy, we stopped these.

LUSH treasuries are great in that all the images have already been moderated by us before they appear on the site. It also gives everyone a chance to have their shop link posted on our featured page http://www.etsylush.com/featured

We have the most glorious weather here in France and it sure is a relief after the -20C we've been having! It really feels like spring is on the way. Yay!

The weather here in southern California is warming up too, though it's still chilly at night. Nothing like the snows of my hometown in Ohio, of course, but since I work security at night and am exposed during my shift I make sure to have warm layers handy. I'm beginning to think about what I might put in my garden this year. My husband and I grow roses, hyacinth, morning glories, bleeding hearts, fushia, etc. I was thinking I might add in some veggies or herbs, but since we live in an apartment we are limited on space. Does anyone have experience with patio gardening who might be able to offer some tips?

Your garden sounds wonderful! We have the opposite problem, too much land! Trying to make that look good is a nightmare and takes a huge amount of work as well as money. We grow vegetables but not in containers. I have had great success though with tomatoes, cucumbers and basil all in one great big wooden container. It was quite high up so I let the cucumbers trail over the side. They were delicious, best cucumbers ever.

Eureka, those cucumbers sound amazing! I had thought about tomatoes too. I've seen tomato plants in hanging baskets before, and I wonder if that would work well for us. I love having big salads with lots of fresh veggies. Pepper plants don't take up much space either, and maybe I could make salsa later in the summer. Yummy...

Holly, I hope you had a great leap day! I learned today that in some cultures there was an old tradition that women could only propose marriage on a leap day.

@Lorianne, The cucumbers tasted a little bit like melon, they were amazing. I grew basil with the tomatoes because it keeps aphids away. The only problem with container planting is that you have to water twice a day and have lots of fertilizer in there. It was much more work than when I planted them straight in the garden but the results were better and the taste was better too.

Cherry tomatoes do very well in containers too.

Have you tried strawberries in containers? That's very successful too in a hanging basket. There are actually hanging varieties you can get. Again, lots of watering is required.

In Europe women propose to their men on a leap day. I know several that have.

Good morning all,

Most of our garden goes straight in the ground, but basil and hot peppers line our patio. I make and freeze pesto to get us through most of the year. It's a wonderful winter treat. Experimented with potato condos last year, but had some critter problems.

my neighbor just gave me some onion sets, which will go in the container garden out back. we had an in-ground garden last year, but the drought here makes it very difficult to maintain, and the water bill!! too much- think i might plant some flowers this year instead.
we also just got a puppy who thinks any soil is his personal play box! so....maybe a fall garden :)
