I just wanted to comment to others if they use their own mailboxes to ship out their work or goods to buyers. I had the unfortunate situation happen when the package of loose beads I was sending to a buyer/artist today was stolen directly from the mailbox..really strange and creepy if you ask me..as I had found the empty envelope just around the corner from the house stuck inside some shrubs..had I not gone for a walk today with my grandson I would have never found out about it..so just wanted to pass this along to forworn others who use their own mailboxes to send items out. Go to the post office instead..You never know who may be lurking around..thanks..

I personally always go to the P.O. to ship....it's sad to think that persons would steal from your mail box....

Yes, that is true and thanks for the comment..the postman left a form for me today to fill out in reference to the stolen goods..that made me feel better that there was a follow up on it..at least getting it in the system - blessings to you too.

Recent question right now is when I attempt to get a label from etsy made - I have noticed sometimes the label downloads easily and is a piece of cake getting it printed out, etc..but sometimes the screen goes completely black and when you think it's downloaded It is not and I end having to request a refund for the label..why does this do this? Is it my pc or the etsy site? Have I asked this question before? this last time I just went into my paypal acct. and made up the shipping label. thanks for any answers..

Hi Diane......

as someone who prints her own shipping labels, I think what you did was just perfect.

I have been reading a kinds of horror stories in the forums re: etsy label printing.

I would go the easy route and use paypal shipping labels until etsy get all the bugs out.

If your printing out shipping labels that means your getting sales!!!!!

Thank you - wow, actually this is my second sale in a whole month.better than nanna I guess..strange how it comes in ebbs and tides..and the sales are on loose beads (destash) so kind of given up on jewelry sales since it's so imasse out there. oh well, just keep trying..that's all one can do..thanks for your tips..and big hugs back to you too..:)

I'm curious to know if buyers don't necessarily use the coupon codes available if the items are under or just 'on' the minimum purchase prices tallied? Had two very tiny sales and the last one is 10.00 - the minimum amount to be sold, however they didn't use the coupon code - do some buyers miss this or should I bring this up or reduce their total or offer free shipping? Just wondering as I want to be fair.thank you.

I would say that's completely up to you?

Me personally? I don't fool with them.....half the time no one uses them, I had to go in and give refunds ...so no. I don't use them...

I just went in and did some reductions, so they don't need the coupon.

Let your conscience be your guide......

New question...........I have noticed that on some shops they use different kinds of script or writing tools if you will to make their shop read really neat..do you know what I mean? I just write the usual letters or type and wondering how one can use unique letter type on my shop especially if I want it to show up bold or in different script format or colors..thanks for the help anyone..dg

As far as I know you can only use one type of print script on etsy .....are you referring to banners?

Perhaps I am. but thought I had seen different ways in which to give the info a different look..........maybe I am imagining it..........
another quick situation here: Two separate buyers buying one item each (destash) and not adhering to what I have clearly written about a destash minimum and one buyer is in Canada..I have yet to ship because I've written them to let them know what my minimum is (always written on each listing,how could this be missed?)..plus, I am in Hi right now with my other grandkids and don't go back to Seattle until next Tuesday)..all of this communication has clearly been written on my shop. What to do? I hate sounding like a harpy but I need to get this message across as even a 5.00 minimum is not much really..am I being to hard core? Thanks for your advice. plus, I have learned the hard way that shipping out of the US always costs me more than what I have listed..plus that doesn't really take in consideration envelopes or time to run to the p.o. especially for international. thanks for listening.you're always a big help..:)

Hi Diane,

Since it has been 3 days with no response, cancel the sale and refund the money.

If your losing money on the shipping, you may want to consider raising your international rates.....

I raised ours from $6.95 to $10.95

The point of selling is to make money, not lose it.

regarding your other questions...no, your not hard. Remember.. this is your shop. Your the owner. You make the rules....

do what your gut is telling you to do. If you want to ship....then I would ship.

Or, cancel the choice is yours....

Hi Diane, I am chiming in on the coupon codes. I have ran them several times. Have had only one person ever use them. Including when listing items in my teams. So I'm not sure why people don't save money, but I know I do. I have purchased items and received a thank you coupon and I used it right away!!

Keep on pushing and you'll do great. It does try your patience at times.
