I also often use just plain kraft boxes, a business card, an organza bag, and include polishing pads, but seeing some of you folks enticing packaging on instagram I would like to do something a bit nicer. Someday... Unfortunately, I have a long list of things I would like to do better someday!
I had a slightly unhappy customer yesterday. She bought a pendant with a stone I described as a cratered Tibetan turquoise, in the title and in the description I dedicated a whole paragraph to describing this feature of the stone, and 1 of the 5 pictures was a close up of the stone showing the cratered texture. Customer had assumed the stone would be polished smooth... This is the first time I have felt a problem happened somewhere in between me deciding how to describe the piece and the customer understanding the description. Offered to let them return it but they like it enough to keep it. Still, I would rather customers feel 100 percent satisfied.
Aw Dreia, that's a bummer. But it sounds like you had done everything you possibly could have to describe the nature of the stone. I've had people message me about seeing the stones I use in my stacking rings as "rough" or unpolished or any other thing about the piece and I just can't see what they are talking about. Everyone takes in images in their own way I guess!
My take is- people read or scan the first 2 lines of you description- if that grabs them, they may even read the first paragraph. Anything after that, other than bullet point FAQs will bore the average person to death and they won't read it. It takes a special person to rad lengthy written out detail about anything. I click on a lot of links to shops with .coms- no Etsy shops- interesting to m is most of them have 1 line descriptions- this is it- sterling silver ring with garnet stone- no stone size, no ring band thickness or width- just the facts ma'am I always try to cut back on how much I put in my descriptions and I am a miserable failure, I always figure it may save me convo time if I have all the details
I am also often surprised at the lack of information in some Etsy shops. I have several times not bought from a shop just because I can't be bothered to ask for more info on size etc. I really do everything I can to make sure people form an accurate image of what is being sold. But people do need to read descriptions, and thatnis our responsibility as buyers. I recently purchased 2 beautiful large amethyst from a seller Inhave purchased from before, malways good quality entirely natural stones... I just noticed in the description it said they are hydro amethyst, lab grown... Not too happy about that, and I think this should have been in the tile, but it is entirely my fault for not reading all the details before buying...
Esme sorry Hedda isnt feeling well. Luckily they can handle quite high fevers. If possibly let her work it out on her own during the day and give her fever reducer at night instead.
I find that shipping is much cheaper (at least the uninsured) from sweden to the US than it was the other way around. I just ordered some jewelry boxes with my logo stamped on them so I am excited to see what they look like. I gambled a bit with the design and the colors so there is a slight risk that you wont be able to read it.. ha ha no guts no glory!
Is there someone from UK here that can help me with something? I really want to order this 1,5 liter crock pot from amazon but they want to charge me 45 pounds for shipping. Sounds ridiculous. IS it really that expensive?
yes they do weigh a bit. Sucks to pay 45 pounds shipping for a 13 pound crock pot... Cant find 1,5 liter pots in sweden though... I have to check if the german amazon is cheaper..
Now I'm worried Hedda has UTI. She has very few symptoms apart from fever. I hope it's not that.
And can I just say hotel rates in Amsterdam are outrageous. I have a conference there in April and not looking forward to paying €300 per night at least. Even if work is paying. It's still crazy.
Just a hunch Tess, she was sad on the potty before, but maybe that was just her feeling feverish and tired. I just hope it's something that passes quickly and without medication.
Yes let me know about the crockpot. I suppose you need a plug converter thingie.
I dont think UTI are so common with little ones but if you keep suspecting just get it checked out. I will keep you posted on the crock pot. Yes a plug converter should do the trick or my handy husband will see if you can just replace the whole cord... I think you would laugh at my glas bowl heated by candles ha ha
Noah had no trouble today on the bus today. He did not sit by Joey.
I have been emailing back and forth with his teacher. (Joey is in Noahs class) I found out he sits next to Noah, so she will switch up the seats tomorrow, and move him away from Noah. She does not see any of this behavior in the classroom, But it's a really full class, so I'm sure it's easy to miss.....it could just be going on on the bus because the afternoon bus driver isn't a good disciplinary type person. The morning bus diver has an aid, and they are very strict, so no shenanigans go on on that bus.
When I get those sapphire lots from RR, I split them up depending on size, thickness and color. I have a certain selection on my sapphire ring listing that are of the same quality. I have a customer inquiring about a stone in the lot that was not in the listing (because its super nice) And now I have to explain to her why it's more $
Is there a target temperature for hot pickle? Years ago when I briefly used it I had a donated ex-restaurant stainless steel 'soup warmer', aka hotplate set low. Pre-micro wave days....that long ago.
