Help - How do you deal with Resizing?

I have had my first resize client today. They ordered a wide band (all measurements given in the listing) I made it to the size they requested and now they have come back to me saying they didn't realise how wide it was so it doesn't fit.

How much do you charge, is it like a percentage of the original cost? I will have to make a second band but I can't charge another ring? So what is the best way of dealing with this? (It is a copper band so I can't charge much for it in the first place).

Any advice will be gratefully received.

wide bands fit a finger 1/2 size tighter than narrow bands. so if they say they are a 7. ask if they sized their finger with a wide sizer or narrow sizer and if they were sized with a narrow sizer then add a 1/2 size to a 7 1/2.
also I say first sizing is free. and then charge 20bucks to size it again. unless they are nice about it I just do it if they enclose 5 bucks to ship it back to them.

If the ring isn't personalized, I remake it for them and put the returned ring in my shop for sale. Depending on the sale I may or may not charge for reshipping.
