Kathy, would any of these products make your ipad easier for you to use?

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

Kathy, my greedy* husband just got himself the big ipad pro with the pen, do you think the pen might be helpful for you? It does require fine motor skills but probably less force? Just a thought...
* I call him greedy, he claims to be under an apple spell, we both agree that it wasn't a necessary purchase...😜

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

Kathy there is a free app you can download for ipad called "Voice Command Camera". Then you don't need to push a button to take a photo. You just speak, say "Take Photo!"

A hydraulic press could cut the circles pretty easily. It may be a good investment, for cutting shapes, doming, etc.

I think that disc cutters work best on hard sheet, not annealed.

I have a collection of styluses and am typing with the best of them right now...

Thinking I could make it into a wearable fingertip device. Just a variation on a ring. Kind of across between a ring and a thimble...

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

ty for those links, I think a stylus would be handy. I got them to throw in the pen Maria but lost it when I was in the hospital. It was too tiny for me but I think one of the ergo stylus ones would work well.

I will get the voice command app ty Irene.

Kathy - I like my laptop for photo editing. Have you tried unplugging, then removing the battery? Sounds too simple but it worked for me.

Nice website, Erin.

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

Beatriz I have the Swanstrom cutters that I invested in for an older disc cut jewelry line. Quick to make , just roller print the strips and cut the discs.

They work well whether the silver is annealed or not although I like that there's a bit less finishing involved if no annealing. I have all three sets , just need the arms to whack through the metal. I may call in a favor from a friend who would do a good job. I have all the 18 g sheet. That is the only limitation, I find anything thicker is hard on the cutters.

I like my laptop as well Terri, just need to get back into the groove with photo taking.

Thank you, Terri! It's not fancy, but since I have zero coding experience, I do what I can with it. :D

Do you find having a stand alone website improves your selling Erin?

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

Happy October!!! Happy Saturday!!! Busy, busy here, but gorgeous weather! I'm so happy that summer seems to be fading!

We ended up getting new phones last night, so I'm going through all the tough stuff of setting things up, getting used to the new phone, etc, etc. Of course, iTunes app store is giving me a bit of a fit...but once we get it straightened out, it should be fine.

We are having dinner with friends tonight. I can hardly wait. I had the morning at the barn with a very wicked mare today. :{ Full blown heat cycle and she gave new meaning to PMS. Ugh. My trainer was highly impressed that I stayed the course today, lol. Any horse after this one will be much, much easier. She Sh

Ugh...my computer is acting screwbally...Not sure what the end of my post was suppose to say.

Anyway...Happy October

Oh...love everyone's packaging photos...I will post one tomorrow. I wrap my jewelry in tissue paper, then place in a blue kraft box with a light blue ribbon. Once I get my Moo postcards in, I will add those along with a business card. I like the sunshine cloth idea.

I remember some of those days and always when formal dressage classes or demos were on. The snorting , the defiant head movements , my horse was a brat that way,

I think it's a good back-up, Kathy. I've seen too many sellers here have their shops removed for reasons ridiculous. The fact that I've switched to Shopify has been a bonus - three sales since I opened there in August, versus three sales in two years or better on Indiemade.

Chrissi, my daughter has that new iPhone (she got a free one as a perk from her job, lucky duck) and she says the camera is amazing. You gonna use it for Etsy pics?

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

Yep Kathy. This was full-blown nastiness today. I haven't ridden this horse in 6 months! She even bucked a bit today. Naughty girl. Her hormones are in full-swing...and it didn't help that a friend of mine brought her very handsome gelding back to our place last night and they put him right next to Millie. The barn manager had to move them yesterday evening because things became a bit *ahem* heated.

We have a show next weekend...I'm hoping things will ease up by then.

Re: Falling into October with the Chatty Metalsmiths

One of the selling points for me, Susan...was the camera. I have been taking more and more pictures with my cell phone so I can post easily to IG, Twitter and FB. The plan is to try it out and see. I was getting ok photos with my 5, but even the guy at Sprint said this camera was the best he has seen yet in a phone. Also...DH and I rarely upgrade to new phones (it has been nearly 4 years since we last upgraded), so I wanted to go with the newest one on the market for now, because by the time we upgrade again...it could be eons from now, lol.

Your daughter was lucky to get one as a perk! They are so expensive right now! We ended up changing our plan and the phones ended up being basically free by the time we had our discounts and new plan changes.

Chissi I feel ya! My one and only show made was a beotch from hell when in season, otherwise quite normal. Taking a lesson I can only imagine the fun! 😃

I can't believe how much I got done today. Patting myself on the back. I pushed orders aside and did me stuff

Go you, Pennee!

I designed new earrings and put the templates on the silver. I put the drawings up on IG stories. I thought that was better than bombarding my feed. :D

Yay Pennee!

I firmed up some ideas for a commissioned piece with a customer and hope to do a little work tomorrow. It'll be about two weeks since i did any metal work so I'm a little nervous. Maybe I should just make something really simple tomorrow and postpone the other. I find that if i step away from the bench for more than a few days I usually need a warm up day.

Chrissi, you poor thing! I remember having to ride a mare in heat and that was exactly my feeling afterwards: get thru this and everything after is a piece of cake. Good for you for hanging in there.

Busy day. Stuff got done. A lot of little stuff, but I think more got added to the list than taken off.

Still, celebrating with a wee dram.

I made a Crock Pot full of beef stew and we took it to FIL's house. Hubs took it in, because we're trying to keep this virus away from FIL. I imagine this week is going to be rough.
