Still makes me wonder how you can miss that about your own kid. If you’re not a bully, or a whiny push over, then why can’t you see that your kids a jerk.
I think Parents are probably in denial and only want to see the good in their kids and bullies are pretty good at hiding their actions from eyes that could pin them down.
Had a roof estimate to replace our house and garage roof. I think they made a movie about this called The money Pit.
Guess it depends on maybe how much he's around his kid? Then again, budding sociopaths and bullies can be positively charming and great actors when someone is looking like parents and teachers. What surprises me is that the coach didn't know what the heck was going on
He’s a newbie. He’s 25, and thought it “would be fun” He has no kids, and is to soft. He doesn’t know how to project his voice at all.
It was interesting when I confronted that kid about wearing my kids helmet. He was a real jerk. Then when I brought his mom into it, he melted into a whiny little baby and claimed that the other helmet wasn’t his because it’s messed up. I thought “sociopath” for a split second. How much you wanna bet he’ll come to the game tomorrow with a brand new helmet.
I made Isaacs helmet very very distinctive with paint markers. And wrote his name on it bigger on the inside tonight 😉.
no kids and he thought coaching a bunch would be fun? How about it's work and pretty serious getting them to learn? My daughter made up 5 gallon buckets for their team - 1 for each kid on the team labeled with their name and the sponsors logo. Every bat, glove and helmet has the kids name on it and everything goes in their bucket when they aren't using it
My son in law coaches my #2 grandkid's team. Let me just say they live in PA- he's from GA- he had no clue how serious people take their sports in PA last year when he coached for the first time. He learned a lot but he was never soft and keeps the kids in line at least. This year the kids are doing really well- but some of those 6 yr olds they play look like they are almost ready for the minors! Tiny town where they live- 1 stop light- and most of the kids who play have private coaches and go to summer camps just for baseball, they live for it
Geez, Jen. I swear, some parents can't pull their heads out of their phones long enough to take notice of their kids. I hope your chat with him actually goes somewhere.
I emphasized that I go to games to watch my kid, thouroughly. So I can give him advice on how to improve. NOT socialize with the other mommies. Jerk kids mom didn’t watch 2 seconds of that game. And I observed him constantly glancing at her for some sign of approval when he made a play, or did something cool. She was to bust socializing.
I’m contimplating calling a “parent meeting” before the game to address the general disorder. But the dh would probably be embarrassed. He doesn’t like it when I get all crazy mommy with other kids parents 🤣
Jen...so sorry for all the team issues. Kids can be real jerks! I hope you're able to get it all straightened out. It sounds like a parent's meeting might be in order.
Not much going on here. I took yesterday off for a riding lesson and to catch up on some things around the house. I have felt like I just haven't had enough time to get everything done I need to lately.
I am all in favor of a parent meeting Jen- if you have to be the "heavy" so be it but team sports is important for kids and how they experience it is so important. You don't come across to me as "that mom" that thinks her kids are perfect and deserve all the special stuff- you just want things run right. DO IT!!! Your dh will get over it and he should be proud of you for taking a special interest in your kids activities. And yes- every parent should be actually watching! I get so excited when my tiny granddaughter can actually hit a pitch and not have the T-ball thing put up!
Good morning. Sounds as if a parent meeting is needed, Jen. Small storm blew through yesterday evening and dropped the temp more than 20 degrees in less than 20 minutes. Got a half inch of rain in 30 minutes and it moved on.
We ran into a hail storm just past Asheville once - temp dropped 30 degrees in the less than ten minutes, and then we were right in the middle of it. O.o
It was. He had missed the application deadline, and we asked if it was still possible to get him in. Nope, deadline passed, end of discussion. We tried again with the school. Nope.
So we went to the Central Office - where the superintendent is. The Director of Secondary Ed talked to the principal. Still a no - now they're citing his grades and absences. Hubs gets mad - one more letter to EVERYONE involved. They finally said yes. Hubs is very persistent. Ha.
My very bestest next door neighbors are having their moving sale today. I haz the sads. :( Miss Edith did have a small Singer mending machine for sale - they gave it to me for nothing for K. I'm gonna teach her to sew on it - that toy one she got at her birthday is worthless.
