in other news, i just ate my lunch leftovers for "dinner"- a seared ahi tuna salad with mandarin oranges and a cucumber wasabi dressing.... from an irish pub-restaurant.

I got 4 hours of metal time in today. I necklace, two bracelets and an earing actually finished.
Dinner here will probably be broccoli and grated cheese. Period. Dh is working late and he will probably grab a burger so I'm free to cook what I want. Hmmm and there IS a slice of frozen pizza in the ice box.

hi guys. back from the studio. didn't stay late cause i was alone- i'm not always an idiot either. just most of the time :)
working on that exhibition piece. got some of the enamels set. still much to do... should be done next week for sure. one of the enamels has some crazing in it though and i have to re-fire it and hope i can heal the fractures. can't finish it til i get that done and class doesn't start til 9/9.

Just thinking...I'm surprised that the facility is left completely unused in the evenings. You'd think others would be doing something nearby even if there isn't a course.

college kids don't seem to be there much- work ethic issues? seems to be to me.

Any enamel people... Sue are you still here?
if I wanted to start torch enameling, what's the easiest thing to start with? I was looking at this kit from Rio:

I was thinking lead free because I am working in my house. Thoughts? Any good book I should buy as well?

I keep making all my copper blue, so I think I must need to play with color. Also, I want to incorporate my scientific drawings into my jewelry and I thought enamel might be the way to go.

well, that's a nice little kit. you need sifters and a trivet to torch on. and some klyr fire to hold the enamel. the book that i think is the enameling bible is linda darty's book.
