How is this done?

First, I just want to say that I have no intention of copying this artist's work. My question has to do with the technique of melting the wire ends into balls near delicate gemstones. I have tried this a million times unsuccessfully. I have burned and/or exploded more beads than I care to remember. Can anyone tell me how this is done?

Re: How is this done?

When you get an answer, let me know! Maybe ask on the main thread where everyone hangs out? Not sure this'll get seen.
By the way, hi Di!

Re: How is this done?

The etsymetal blog just did a post about this maybe 2 months ago? If you head over there, it has some great info.

Re: How is this done?

That's what I was gonna say. I wrote that article...it's all about the torch. I know that Danielle Miller-Gilliam has a secret technique to pinning with pearls but I don't know what it is. The important thing to remember is that you can't put the pearls in the pickle after you're done so you have to be completely finished when you're pinning.
