LOVE fingerprint rings. Those gold ones are beautiful.

I have also heard Racecar is good for casting. (I have only carved wax and sent it out for casting via my jewelry instructor but I think she used Racecar)

Love all of the etching you guys are doing. Those bar codes are WAY cool.

Rainy and warmer here today. The daffodils are up about 5". They get snowed on every year.

M seems to be OK this morning, aside from some bruises and soreness.
No, S.U.E., he hasn't had any surgery. No hip problems, just general weakness. But, it's scary, 'cause I can't be much help. He's lots bigger than I.

glad to hear that- must be thinking of someone else. do you have grab bars and stuff in the bathroom? if you get your doctor to write an order as medically necessary, medicare pays for at least part of that. helps a bit.

sue, i'm gonna take issue with that guy "inventing" fingerprint rings. he may have popularized it, but no way can one person claim authorship of such an intuitive idea. anyone who accidentally touched wet wax at the bench, or anyone looking at a baby's footprint on a birth certificate, etc. could have the same idea independent of external influence...

S.U.E., he's got a walk-in shower with grab bars in his bathroom. He was in my bathroom when he fell. No grab bars, just a big jacuzzi tub that's pretty deep.
Was not going to redo my bathroom 'cause I used chemicals in there and figured it would just get messed up. Might have to rethink that. OMG, the thought of another bathroom renovation makes my head ache.

i agree with you erga- bad choice of words on my part perhaps. he certainly is the one who popularized it and to my knowledge, was the first to put them into production. anyways, he's the one that is credited with the idea.

Esme congrats to setting a date! Love the finger print ring idea. I am with Sue though. I didn't want to make my own rings either. It was really nice to be able to just buy them and not stress about it. David bought a Damascus steel ring that looks like wood grain pattern. Perfect for him :o)

Sue are you feeling better?

Had another dress fitting last friday and spent the rest of the weekend with wedding stuff. I am almost finished with my little crown. Finished the cake toppers though and the cup cake stand is almost done!

Glad you're feeling a bit better even though you can't drive!

It's a lot of work but I think it will be worth it. Everything we're doing is very much us so it will be nice to look around the backyard that day and see everything come together. And I will feel like I have a crazy amount of spare time after the wedding ha ha

Well, here's what I just finished. It took me way too long to set the stone because it isn't perfectly flat in the back and then I had to reapply the LOS but she's done! I like the tree/leaf part so much that I think I'm going to make a few more similar pieces:
