morning all. too early. my dh woke me up by asking me what that rash was on my face? he thought that was apparently funny. yeah, yeah, april fools.
my staff once played this horrid joke on me for april fool's. i always come in and have the day's list of patients on my desk and it's the first thing i look at when having my morning coffee. they assembled the busy day ever on a phony list (like superhuman) with the worst patients in my practice- you know, the biggest energy suckers, the biggest complainers, the few i don't get along well with- i came in and saw that list and almost died! they all had a good laugh- april fool's! they got me.

Sorry I had to post and run yesterday. It seems to take me all morning to get caught up and then out I must go. Work consumed me yesterday and I went to bed after dinner. Seems like I'm still fighting this bug.

It wouldn't be so bad if it wouldn't try to trick me into thinking I'm doing better and then smack me. Yesterday I thought I could do my usual brisk mountain hike but when I got half way (like the farthest from home) I thought I was going to die. I just suddenly felt super weak and my one of my eyes went blurry. I can't tell you how happy I was to get home.

Morning. This April Fool woke up an hour before the alarm, and for no good reason.

For me, not good or bad really. I have the luxury - or curse - of setting my own schedule without reference to the world at large so I can grab a nap whenever I want.

I think it was anticipation, I decided to send in the silver bits for refining today. It's a lot, and a big deal for me.

hi lois, nice to meet you. yeah cg, i've been holding out on ordering. i just tallied my receipts on supplies the other day when we were doing taxes. rude awakening. my numbers are chump change compared to yours but i spent $8,000 last year at rio (gulp)- almost all silver with a few exceptions. that compares to $4,000 the yr before- as i explained to the dh, that is not me buying more, i think that is totally the difference in silver prices.

Yeah, a lot of silver is moving through my hands, not much of it is sticking.

But, stores are still ordering at last year's level. Still not sure how the final customers will react to higher prices though.

yeah, i haven't changed my prices. it's hard with mainly OOAK work. i tend to charge more for it to begin with so i'm just eating the cost right now and not paying myself as much. that can't continue forever. i'm not working for some crappy hourly wage.

Off to Austin today. M's receiving his award from the state tonight. So, I've got to decide what I'm going to wear and get packed. We're supposed to leave in about an hour.

Well, I just sent off my first order of wholesale copper, curious to see what happens. Right now I stand to net more per hour with copper than silver, and that's even with the 10% surcharge on bracelets starting last week - don't you hate surcharges - after a January increase of 20% over 2010 prices.

I decided there's no point in working for nothing, chips falling where they may.
