Hi @HeatherJeanCreations .  You may need more heat.  Copper oxidizes quickly and you'll need a lot of heat to get the solder flowing before the copper oxidizes.  Solder flows to heat, so you may be getting the hoops hotter than the rest of the piece.  What type of torch are you using?

Thanks to you both for the help! Yes, it seemed just working at it did the trick. Yes, it took a lot of heat! I ended up having to smear the solder with my pick...not sure if that is ever a good idea. But it worked since it just wouldnt flow on its own. Maybe i didnt get it clean enough? Not sure. After that i cleaned it and the wings broke when i tried to bend them back. Haha☺️ it sure was a challenging piece. But I did end up modifying with a much thicker piece of metal between the wings the second go and all went much smoother. Guess I learned my lesson there:)

Didn't rain today, so I ran errands. Was planning bench time for the afternoon, but a couple of friends dropped buy, and that age up two hours. So, got nothing done. Maybe I'll work some tonight.

Today, no rain so I willbe outside putting in the last of my garden seeds.  It's suppose to rain tomorrow (Monday) so if I can get the garden seeds in, it will be perfect to get a nice rain to get it watered well.

I have some big earrings in the works.  I need to photograph and list some new pieces that I have piling up.  I don't mind the photographing, but it takes time.  I hate the listing part though.

Well, time does go quickly.  I was on here at the beginning of the year and now it is November.  Hope you all are doing well.  I've lost touch with some of you.  Still doing jewelry, just not so much selling on Etsy.
