Hello to all our new members. Helo bawb!
Please feel free to introduce yourselves here.

I'm 'Bopa' - but, just to confuse you all, you will often see me signing in under other etsy IDs (most notably sewmuchfrippery).
My 'real' name is Rosemary and I live in Abermaw/Barmouth, Gwynedd. 'Bopa' is my much loved 'alter ego'!

Re: New Members:

I always felt a passion for the arts. Since a young age I was writing poems, drawing.
Being a pupil I attended additional art school. Goes to the next town to finish high school also joined the art school and i finish it.

Blog: www.atraskitesave.blogspot.com

Making a couple of years break, I found myself again. again began to draw and paint. It inspired me to join the profession of painting. 2013 must complete and receive a diploma.

But a little bit early, quite suddenly and unexpectedly, my best friend introduced me to the world of jewelry. I would have never thought of that, I'll do it, and yet with such a passion.

My jewelry career began with soutache technique, just recently, I fell in love beads and embroidery ornaments from them. They became my favorite. Yet. Because I am a Gemini by horoscope as many things as jewelry and I am fickle. Still looking for innovation, and I try to learn as much as possible :)

Together we will be able to monitor the changes in my jewelry and learn new things. It's fun to be here and interact with a soul mate. I wish everyone luck :)

I really hope you enjoy my work, waiting for your own shop :) Good luck to all.

Re: New Members:

that is interesting that you don't come up in searches if you put Wales UK....I always put Wales UK....perhaps I should put England......
I know a lot of Americans who think that Wales is in England....duh....
should I change what I put in my tags?

Re: New Members:

Shwmae bawb! How do everyone!. I agree, when I tried to enter Newport Wales, as opposed to Newports in England, I came up as NEW SOUTH WALES in AUSTRALIA. That's why my legend declares that I hail from City of Newport, Wales uk (not Australia ). I have taught all around Gwent for 40 years, In Risca Welsh School, in Risca Town primary (which is no longer there - it's grown a far more lucrative crop - houses), Adult Education classes everywhere, as well as spending 30 years in a very busy and important Civil Service Office as the person who dealt with all welsh language applications. I was raised in Carmarthenshire, went to school in Abergorlech and Llandeilo Grammer, and migrated to Caerleon to attend College there. I stayed. I'm on the hunt for a head yes you DID read correctly. If you check the British Etsy team you will see the full story, but if you wish I will expand - later. Good Luck everyone. Pob Lwc i bawb. Marlene.

Hello everyone,

I am Louise from Carmarthen. I love wales and think it is so beautiful. I did try living away for a bit but I was so homesick for greenery! I have just opened my shop but only have 3 items in it so far, I am still in the process of adding more, any feedback/advice would be great.

Hi Marlene and Lou. Good to meet you both. Apologies for the belated welcome. I have been a bit preoccupied with other things over the past few weeks and haven't been able to spend as much time on etsy as I would have liked. Looking forward to chatting to you both on the main thread!

Re: New Members:

Hi all,

I'm Heidi, my partner Chris is the real artist, I just keep things going while he concentrates on being creative! We moved to the Brecon Beacons a few months back and decided to put his artistic abilities to use as there is not much work around here. Fortunately I work from home, which allows us to live in such a beautiful area.

Chris has developed a love of pyrography and is a published (in 1 book) poet! :) I am actually a web developer, but I also love capturing scenery with my camera, and hope to add some of my photographs to our shop soon.

We are very new to all this so would welcome any advice.

Hi Heidi,
Good to meet you. Welcome to the team! Come and join us on the main chat thread when you're ready - we're a friendly bunch. You'll also find that there is always someone to chip in with some advice if you need help.
I think that the most important thing with etsy is to be patient - and to appreciate that you have to be in it for the long haul. It takes time to make sales here - but can be well worth all the hard work in the end!
I look forward to chatting to you on the main thread. I am usually there under my other ID 'sewmuchfrippery'.

Re: New Members:

Hello, Everyone!
I don't know if there are any other "Yanks" in the group. If not, there is now! I have a long association with Wales (Anglesey, specifically), going back to 1972 when my parents moved there and stayed until they passed in 2008. My mother was from Liverpool and my father was career US Air Force. They met when he was stationed outside Liverpool right after the war. When Dad retired and they were done traveling the globe, they decided to settle in Anglesey.
I live in New Jersey, right in the shadow of New York City and do photography professionally (weddings, portraits, events). My etsy shop is my creative outlet and full of the personal photography that I do (a little bit of Wales in there!).
I look forward to interacting with everyone!
Pat

Hello!

Just a thought regarding location and place names on Etsy. Please continue to list as Wales! I specifically seek out Welsh items and want to know the shop owner is in Newport, Wales not Newport, England!

Re: New Members:

Hi Jeannie and Carey Ann. Good to hear from you both. Apologies for the delay in responding. I have been unable to spend a great deal of time on etsy in recent weeks (mainly due to internet access issues) and, when I do log on, I always have a million and one things to catch up on (I have 4 etsy shops!). Unfortunately, despite my best endeavours, I don't always remember to check this particular thread.
Please do come and join us on the main Chat Thread for 2014. That's where we all 'hang out'. It would be lovely to chat to you more. I'm usually there under my other ID sewmuchfrippery
Welcome to the team!

Hi Robert. Good to see you! Welcome to the team.
It's always nice to see a new face. Come and join us on the main chat thread. Here's the new one for 2016:
https://www.etsy.com/teams/7619/the-open-welsh-chat-team/discuss/17267749/?ref=team_page
Having said that, the chat threads have been eerily quiet in recent months. I'm not sure where everyone has disappeared to! We used to be quite a merry band at one time
Hopefully a few more people will jump in and we can get chatting again.
You say you have a love for Wales. Have you visited - or are you hoping to make the trip? Lots to see here
