'Bopa' here under another guise.
Thought I'd get a general chat thread rolling ... while we wait for the 'big chop'.
Shall we get our knitting needles out - like the women who surrounded the guillotine?! (seems very etsyesque!)
I'm in bootcamp with my shop on the other side (folksy shhhhhhh) I've signed up for Stumbled Upon, Twitter, Pinterest. Today is Facebook. I've always been wary of facebook because as a teacher it's where kids and parents feel they can have a go at you. One of our staff sued and won.
If you are on one of these sites I'll follow.
My visitors arrive today so I won't be getting much done over the weekend. Have a great day!
Baban the P&P is 20p...she is also selling an empty cereal box and an empty coke bottle !!!...??? Good news....I sent an email to the magazine "artist & Illustrators asking if they could do a feature on aceos......not only did they print my letter, but also one of my paintings...AND they are going to do the feature in the January issue....well done to them !....any advertising is good !!
Cwtch...I just emailed the magazine...and started by saying how wonderful it was (crawl,crawl...lol) then asked if they had ever considered to a feature on.....(whatever.....in my case it was miniature paintings)..... Editors are always looking for new ideas to write about....so you could start with a magazine that YOU like....be it knitting, crochet, card making...etc..... Then just email them. In the past I have had loads of things in magazines...including crochet and knitting patterns, cartoon cards.....even poems...... Go on ....give it a go ...after all it isn't like cold calling.....they could pass you in the street and not know who you are.....just an email name.... There are email addresses in all the magazines.... Because I emailed the art mag....there is a possibility now that a lot of people will be introduced to aceos, who have never heard of them before !
Hi everyone, Just caught up on the last weeks worth of posts...lots going on with you all...lovely treasuries and new product. Hi Helen, I took a peek at your shop...love the product. Things have been hectic here...I've been trying to put together a jewelry class for the past few weeks...enough students signed up for a lesson today and resigned for another lesson next week. So I finally broke out my micro torch yesterday...so much fun :) I made an adorable pair of earrings with my own hand made ear wires. Setting cabs and making rings is next. Going to wash the dinner dishes now, Enjoy your weekend, Emma
Hi everyone- so long since I've stopped in here. hope all is well over there in one of the most beautiful spots on earth! Very busy with the shop and full time job. Like those earrings Karen. Changed our avatar- Decided to take our faces off but its still us Cynthia and Terry in Washington state. take care my Welsh friends and all those others here with a Welsh connection! Happy sales to you all
Morning all....sun looks like it is going to make an appearance today..yay! Thanks Brenda, you have inspired me to have a go and email a magazine or two!!!
Cwtch....let us know how you get on. At least it shows that SOME editors DO listen...in fact I KNOW they do because back in the 80's I contacted a machine knitting magazine and a lady came and interviewed me and did a DOUBLE page spread all about my knitting and I STILL have the article framed and on the wall.... Any publicity is good !!...someone even came up to me in town and asked for my autograph !!
It's out here! Right now! Quick! Yesterday the light was so strange. I drove through Cardiff as it was going dark. The mist was really low but the headlights were picking up all the tall white buildings in town. My daughter said it looked apocalyptic. A big word considering I was taking her home after she spent all day in Llandough Hospital. Cat x
We really don't know what's wrong. She's coping on a day to day basis but she's waiting for tests. They might bring them forward after yesterday. They are much harder work as adults than they ever were as children!
I'll be taking photos too before we lose the light. I just hope the batteries are charged. I know mine aren't. I need a night's sleep
I hope they find out whats wrong Cat, it's horrible just not knowing.
Hope you get some good light although the photo is not bad Kim :) I woke up to a huge thunderstorm this morning but My plants needed the rain so not complaining well only about the rude awakening lol
hello its me again I know I flip in and out and disspaear for months.. but I have been very busy showing my illustration work in London at brand licensing and I know have signed up with an agent. and hoping to also sign a contract soon with a car company..
Im still skint tho and trying to get my etsy shop bringing in some pennies.. a lot has changed on here and wondered if anyone could tell me what these advertising things are all about setting budgets using better tags and then advertising each week .. does this work what are your views??? any advise would be great!
