'Bopa' here under another guise.
Thought I'd get a general chat thread rolling ... while we wait for the 'big chop'.
Shall we get our knitting needles out - like the women who surrounded the guillotine?! (seems very etsyesque!)
Thanks for all the congratulations. She weighed in at 7lb. 15oz - and her mom is pint sized. They apparently do have a name, but I shan't find out until tomorrow - they trying it out at the moment to see how it suits her. We have been away for two days interviewing - for John's business - so we haven't had a chance to see her yet - we'll go tomorrow. There are pics of FB - she looks lovely.
Love your treasury and new item Cariad. Hello NewEndStudio.
Exhausted - interviewing is hard work. Going to bed. Nos da i bawb.
I wanted to tell everyone that I am participating in the OWOH 2011 event on my blog. There's a giveaway on all participating blogs, just leave a comment to enter. Here's my blog:
Thanks again for the congrats. We saw her this morning - she's still at the lovely newborn sleepy stage. They're enjoying it while they can - and her oldest sister (41/2) has got new baby leave from school (started Jan) so they can all get to know her at the same time - I think that's a lovely idea.
Her name is Efa (Welsh for Eve) Adelie Tirion.
If i can find time I'm going to do a new baby treasury tomorrow.
I hadn't seen the lovespoon blog but have since followed the link. Nice to see a Welsh theme on etsy!
What a shame about the one you made Cariad. You must have a bash at another one. That's the worst of clay work - very fragile. My uncle was a lovespoon maker - he did it for a living (went round all the craft fairs etc). My father also made several and they are among my most treasured possessions.
Did anyone see the Marketing ideas for March article on the etsy blog - written by Mary Mary. They listed St. Patrick's Day but ignored us - so I left them a message. Does everyone else get as fed up as I do about being classed with England all the time? And our language and literature is older than theirs - and we were here first! Blaaah. End of rant.
Hi Molli. I suspect everyone's over on the other 'E' site. It's a free listing day over there. That's where I've been anyway! Love the new neckwarmer. I suspect many women wouldn't mind being 'down to 13 men' .... until they realised you were talking rugby!!! (off to the naughty corner again .... maybe that's where we'll find Teabreaks!) I'm glad you sent a message to admin about the lack of reference to St David's Day. Perhaps if we all pipe up we'll get a mention ... I know precisely what you mean about Wales being 'lumped in' with England (many people on the other side of the Atlantic think that 'England' and 'UK' are synonymous .... don't get me started on that one!) It's like the classic Encyclopedia Britannica reference all over again: 'For Wales, see England' (ouch!!)
LOL...I get a lot of letters that say Wales, England !!!! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend...blue skies here at the moment and it looks like the tide is in.....I can see Devon across the Bay ...lovely
Was the 'other E site' Folksy - because i finally set up a shop there this weekend - and they did charge me for listing.
Really like your kilt pin Morag - sorry about the score - well, not really, but sorry it had to be you, it would have gone down better when we played England.
I think you're right Sewmuch - we all have to keep saying WE ARE NOT ENGLAND - and eventually people start to notice. I listen to Classic FM on the radio, for example, and until recently their news reader was pronouncing Welsh names very badly - but suddenly they've woken up to the fact that we have a separate language and that it's rude not to bother - and they've found they can get their tongues around it after all.
Molli: the 'other E site' is ... shall I whisper it ... eBay! It was a free listing weekend this last weekend so I was taking full advantage of it. Not much has sold yet though.
Well I finally did it! I just compiled my first treasury. It wasn't anyway near as difficult as I thought it would be. As it's St Valentine's Day, I went for something romantic - even if it is predictable - Cinderella's rags to riches love story. Here it is if you want to take a look:
Thanks Cariad. I really enjoyed doing the treasury. I can see how it can become addictive! Love the new button. Very classy. A nice treasury too for all of us who live by the seashore. Only once have I ever NOT lived by the sea - for one year - and I hated it!! I must have been a 'salty sea dog' in a former life!
Good stuff Cariad. I have been intending to do the same thing. Hopefully we'll get a mention. I hope to also do at least one Welsh treasury before St David's Day.
