Jacque - our story is practically identical.
I work as a concierge for a hotel. I find it... lacking and ultimately not rewarding. I got my degree in political science, so this was really nothing I intended to do. But honestly, I just got my degree to get a degree, without any sort of direction in mind.
I'm also two years out of college, painfully bored at work, and knowing my skill set is wasted here.
While it isn't the worst job ever (I've had a paralegal job where they didn't let you get on the internet, listen to music, or even talk - they'd take it out of your bonus check if they thought you were talking), I just find it lackluster. I need a different job, but my degree doesn't give me any openings to the type of jobs I would like (mainly art ones!).
So for now I work here and hope that I can become at least part time in a year or two. We'll see...
