text message replying for non esty user

Hi everyone,

I recently received a text message from a buyer, the username shows that he is not a valid Etsy user, how am i going to reply to the message?

How was he able to message you through text message? I would keep everything through etsy messages. I wouldn't respond if it were me, there are tons of scams going on right now.

It could be that the ''buyer'' was a scammer and Etsy deleted their account.  Was the message about not being able to purchase from you and they needed your email address?

yup, the message is about can't placing an order and needed my email address to complete it.

Do you mean that you received an Etsy message from someone? There are a lot of scam messages being sent to new sellers. If that person's account has already been removed by Etsy (which is why you'd see the invalid user message) they were likely sending scam spam to a bunch of shops.

Most likely it was a SCAM and etsy deleted the account.

If you have a message through the message system, and you can't reply,

either they deleted their account, or they have been scamming, and etsy deleted their account.

Mark the message as spam.
