As a UK seller its been pointed out to me that if you use the 'ready to dispatch in' filter when searching for an item on Etsy and set it to either 1-3 days or 1 day, it also defaults to 'items in the Eurolpean Union' meaning that UK shops/ items do not show up in search. Is this a known issue. and how long has this been happening?!
This is certainly true for the items I sell - jewellery. Whenever the 'ready to dispatch in' filter is used, all my items disappear from search (I have them set at 2-3 days or 3-5 days) - and the Items from European Union filter appears at the top of the selection shown. This needs to be fixed immediately. I also would like to know how long this has been a thing.
This affects ALL UK sellers. Search for something - anything! Then tick one of the 'ready to dispatch in' filters. Your selection will shrink and the 'Items from European Union' filter will appear at the top!!! Please contact Etsy via Live Chat - the more complaints received, the quicker this will be resolved. If a buyer is using the 'dispatch in' filters - your items are not showing!
I’ve just seen this in a Facebook group and checked it out on my items and it isn’t showing any of mine, just items from the EU
Was a bit unsure about this as I couldn't find the problem at first, but now I have. If you click on e.g. "1 business day" dispatch in the filter on a search, instead of showing "Anywhere" further down the filter, the selection reverts to "European Union".
yes, if you use the 'ready to dispatch' filter, it automatically defaults to items in the European Union and shows nothing from the UK....
This issue is continuing despite raising directly with the support team.
Each time I select the filter “1 business day” or “1-3 business day” the “items from European Union” filter automatically selects. This is removing all UK sellers when sort by dispatch date is selected
yes, this is still an issue and very worrying. I have also reported it- we also have no idea how long this has been happening. The Etsy agent I spoke to was in the US and it didn't show from her end, so I had to send a video. This must be sorted soon
Yes i saw this a while back and thought it was just a glitch, but i guess thats how its been set, and yes this needs sorting out as all my items are sent out next day, and my views are next to nothing on the Etsy search section on the Stats now, lucky if i get 10 views these days for the whole day where i used to get at least 60, so not great when your items are not being shown in the search results, its just issue after issue on Etsy and fed up of all now, nothing seems to be set correctly on the site.
Is it doing the same thing on the App as well?
No, luckily the same doesn’t happen on the app. BUT I’m not sure what proportion of users have the app
@ImpressumsJewellery thanks for looking and at least thats something, i cant believe how ridiculously low my Etsy search stats are, i hope it changes soon as i am sure i get most of my sales from the website and not the App.
@ClareasGlass i have just done another post regarding this issue as this really needs to be looked into, and the more posts about it might bring it more to light and help to get it fixed.
It's really important that this is fixed asap. Currently UK customers who select a dispatch by time filter are not being shown any products by UK sellers, instead only products from sellers in the European Union. The UK option is listed below the EU option, so the default option should either go to UK only if it's a UK buyer searching or stay on the sellers based anywhere. Did the lT/technical team not realise the UK is listed separately when doing the updates?
seemingly it got passed on yesterday to the tech department by one of the Mods, but i wont be holding my breath its gets fixed quickly, it just seems glitch after glitch now with the site, and it appears everytime a new update is done it just gets worse and nothing gets fixed.
im bumping this one up to the top, because the more sellers that see there is a problem the better.
someone did a search yesterday and there were over 80k items missing from the search results because of this mess, thats alot of lost revenue for everyone involved and thats just one search, can you imagine just how much the sellers have lost across the board and of course Etsy too, how much have they lost in fees!! you think they would of got this fixed asap with the weekend of sales coming up when it was reported the the tech department Friday, but im guessing they needed to go home!!
Just checked again and its still the same- if you use the 'ready to dispatch in' filter on search it automatically defaults to shops/ items in the European Union wiping out all UK and other countries outside the EU from search. This needs escalating and fixing ASAP
yes i checked earlier and saw the same, plus i know as my views are just pathetic, we will have to see what happens on Monday now and see if this gets sorted out, if not i will be sending an email to Etsy with screen shots that i have taken.
