scan code not working
I received a message about making a sell and tried to access the scan code sent in the message and it keeps sending me an error code or link not available. I don't know if this is real or a scam. My listings show 0 sold. Can't get a response from anyone at Etsy. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I have the customers name and address but don't know what he purchased. HELP!

Re: scan code not working
SCAM! Etsy does not use QR codes or require you to verify anything when you make a sale!
- When you get an actual sale, the sale will show on your shop dashboard, and the money will show in your shop payment account
- If Etsy ever needs to confirm or verify anything, Etsy puts a notice on your shop dashboard and never sends a link. You do all updates directly from your dashboard.

Re: scan code not working
For further information, the QR code would have taken you to a FAKE Etsy page or FAKE Etsy chat. They would ask you to verify yourself by handing over your credit card or banking info. They would tell you that you needed XX amount of dollars in the account in order to have an Etsy shop. Then they would steal your money, which you may never get back since you handed over all your banking information willingly.

Re: scan code not working
Sorry, it's a SCAM! There are lots of different ones going around. Be on the look out for them (messages AND direct emails).
Genuine messages from Etsy will ONLY appear in the 'from Etsy' folder of your message inbox (in your shop manager - viewed on a browser).
Mark any potential Scams messages as SPAM and Etsy will check.
