overcharge for FedEx label

i have purchased several FedEx shipping labels but have been overcharged for the label.  For example, the label showed a price of 12.70 (including all the fees) but I was billed 20.82 through Etsy payments.  Etsy support said it was a FedEx issue and would not give me a refund.  They said to call FedEx which I did, and FedEx said it was not their fee.  Anyone else have this issue? I have had it happen on 3 FedEx labels recently. Thanks

So some of your Fed Ex labels were charged correctly and 1 was overcharged?

I wouldn't use the label, you should be able to 'return' it for a full refund.

Then buy your labels directly from FedEx or better yet, PirateShip.

thanks - unfortunately I used the labels before I noticed, as I have used FedEx many times and never had a problem. I called Etsy support to try to get a refund for the overage.  It happened on 3 labels.  I didn't think Pirateship did FedEx labels - I have used them mostly for UPS.

We could second this. We purchased 10 labels yesterday, which were quoted at around $260 before completing the purchase or clicking the "purchase" button. However, after confirming the order, the Etsy balance dropped by $350. I requested a refund for all the labels, repurchased them, and encountered the same issue again. We are currently in contact with Etsy Support to resolve the situation.

I just noticed this today on 3 labels and definitely a couple from yesterday. The payment account deducted roughly 20% more than what was listed on the label purchase screen. Anyone get any resolve yet?

I don't know what items everyone is shipping but our labels have been either $8.12 or $8.13 more from what was displayed when we first bought the labels and what was actually deducted from our account.

Eysy support says currently there's an investigation about those changes after a FedEx label is purchased. They can't refund the difference until after the investigation is completed. They assured me they will refund eventually.

It is not unusual for there to be an increase and with the holidays it might be more because they are charging holiday prices.

So some extra charges may be legit.

That's not the problem.  Etsy is charging $8.12 more immediately after the label is purchased before FedEx gets to verify the dimensions of the shipment.

I purchased a Fedex label and was quoted $10 or $12 to ship. I checked it and I was charged $21.01.

Yes, I no longer use FedEx after always experiencing the adjustments after using this carrier. I am now experiencing this with UPS.

They adjust for location ( rural etc.) and someone this morning was saying they seemed to be adding a fee now for requested home pickup (not dropping off at a Fed Ex outlet) You need to research via Fed Ex.. something may have changed.

We had a random 20 dollar up charge from FedEx via Etsy. I inquired about the same size item & it would cost 10 directly from FedEx. Now I do not use FedEx via Etsy. There was no way to challenge the false up charge here.
