A customer sent me a message. Then quickly sent me another message on a different thread.
I responded to the second message only, thinking it would count because same customer.
Etsy has put my message response below ,Star Seller response, they put it at a 90.
Even though my message response has been 100 for a very long time.
I talked to an Etsy person and they say they can't change the number.
Help.
You need to be really watchful for this, it happens quite a bit. Always make sure what you are seeing is or is not a new thread!
And really sorry but Etsy has made it clear that they will NOT change star seller stats even if it their error. (And in this case it is not--it was your error) As long as it does not happen again it should roll off in the next 3 months.

For Star Seller you need to reply to (or mark as SPAM) the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else.

If you find you can't answer all messages reliably, set an automatic reply so you don't miss any.

I've always thought the Star Seller rules make it very clear that I need to respond to the 1st message in every thread (NOT every message). So yeah, sellers gotta pay attention to whether it's a new thread ... even if it's about the same order/topic.
