I have just got order from a new customer and there is an Thank-You discount applied in this order.
I have Thank you sale set up in my shop. If I understand it correctly, once a customer makes one purchase, he/she will receive a thank-you-discount email which he/she can apply on their next purchase. Which means he/she has to be a repeat customer, right?
So I am confused how a new customer could get this discount??
And even more, when I look up Stats, there has not been any thank-you email sent to any customer yet.
Anyone has similar experience?

Etsy is set up, so anyone can use any coupon,
so if they can guess it, or if they use sites like Honey, that trawl for them, they can use them
make sure your coupon names are not easily guessable, and change them often

you're using the most obvious word for your code. Savvy etsy buyers are always going to try that word on the off chance it works.

Re: first time customer applying Thank-You-Sale
aah, obviously, I had no idea how the discount works. I thought the program somehow opens the access to discount for them. Silly me. Thank you so much, CappuccinoLace!

Re: first time customer applying Thank-You-Sale
Etsy has been directly offering any customer with items in their carts any active coupons the seller has for months now. You don’t need to guess, go to coupon sites, or even being using a coupon scraping browser like Microsoft Edge. All you have to do is put an item in your cart and wait a few hours. Etsy will then tell you the seller sent you a coupon (including thank you ones) and all you have to do is go to your cart and click a check box above that seller’s items to apply the discount. So if a seller isn’t okay with first time buyers using any discount including thank you coupons, they should deactivate their coupons, because Etsy itself is offering all of them to any potential buyer.

Re: first time customer applying Thank-You-Sale
I tested this. I put an item from your shop in my cart and within 4 hours, Etsy offered me a coupon code from you for 10% off, even though I’m not in Australia and I’ve never shopped with you before. I took screenshots if anyone wants to see what I’m talking about, including you @greylittlemouse.
