Hi, when browsing via Etsy I noticed that some listings are all black - first picture is not visible ... I jumped into my shop and noticed the same! Is there something going on?
@GlassSlippersByJane - I just went through all the pages in your shop, everything looks normal to me. This is so frustrating as we're all seeing different things, which means so are the buyers.
I too have contacted Etsy about this, twice. It definitely appears they feel this isn't an issue, especially with the lack of any response here in the forums. How can they take our listing fees without providing their end of the bargain?
@karrootje - All your listings appear normal to me. Someone just looked at my shop, on my end it looks normal. They told me I have white, black and grey squares in it so it appears lots of colors are happening. FWIW, I've also seen dark brown and kraft paper color brown.
Hi everyone, I've been talking with Etsy support and this is a known issue that they are working on. We've been going back and forth and going through the "errors" code in each web browser console, and the tech team seems to be taking it very seriously. I'm sure they will figure it out! I'll write again if I have any updates.
I'm doing the same thing right now with support. I followed the steps they sent in the email regarding opening up the browser console so hopefully I'm doing it correctly but I'm definitely not a super high tech person!
I wound up taking a screenshot for them and told them I'm more than happy to provide anything else that might help. Let's hope someone is able to fix this.
@ZolaPepper Thank You for posting. If Etsy Support says this is a "known issue" and they are taking it seriously, why is there no Announcement about it.
I just had a text chat with Tania on the Etsy Help Screen and she stated she was able to confirm that this requires of the attention of their higher team and will send me an email with a resolution....I don't believe this has anything to do with our computers and phones....will look forward to hearing more! Please know that our engineering team is currently looking into an issue as to why some listing image are showing as black square. I’ve added all of the details you all provided, so they have more information to work with. At this time, we do not have a timeline for when this issue will be resolved but please know that we prioritize issues based on the impact to our members.
A change was made yesterday evening that should resolve the issue of black images appearing for some sellers. We're keeping an eye on reports and I'll update this threads if there's any additional adjustments.
I alse received an email from Etsy support telling me that issue has been resolved, but it is *NOT* resolved at all. Just went through all of my listings both on my laptop and my iPhone, and found some blank or unrecognizably zoomed in thumbnails. So it's not resolved, obviously.
Not to mention the fact that I just browsed Etsy again in incognito mode and saw *ads* with misshapen thumbnails as well... if anyone here is thinking about paying for Etsy ads
@TonsOfPaper The black squares have gone today and yesterday as far as I can see, but now there is the occasional stubborn totally blank-white square in the checkout basket where the photo should be - no image at all - when I log in as a buyer
I just spoke to Etsy Support and was told that the issue 'has been resolved'. It clearly hasn't, as it's still showing in my shop and in others I've looked at. They asked me to send screenshots so I've done that. Hopefully this doesn't take another month to resolve!
I can't believe it! After all this time waiting for a fix now the first two items in my shop have blank thumbnails. I am using a desktop PC and a laptop, both running Windows 10 and the latest version of Chrome. I cleared cache on both devices yesterday.
Yesterday all was back to normal, i saw I had an email this morning saying it was being sorted and now I have coloured squares and close up pics again.
Admin @ampersay - It doesn't look like the the reply button is active for your post below regarding this so I'm posting this here. Many sellers have received emails that this issue has been resolved, unfortunately it hasn't. Any help you can provide in letting the appropriate team know so they can continue to work on it would be appreciated.
