failed to meet message response rate because refused to respond to repeat offender harassment

i keep getting the same user sending me death threats. at first i would respond by telling them not to contact me anymore and then report them. this caused them to continuously send me threatening messages until they were blocked. it appears they only get blocked from the site for a month because after a month the same user was sending me death threats again. instead of responding and possibly causing the user to bombard me with harassing messages for the rest of the day again i did not respond and went straight to report them. well now i didnt make my star seller message response rate because i didnt want to be harassed for the whole weekend before etsys team got on it on monday. the star seller page says they cannot change your star seller stuff manually. so now what? i dont get star seller because i didnt respond to death threats from a repeat offender? not cool.

You need to mark them as spam and then they won't count against your star seller ratings.

If they truly are death threats, though, I would report to the police as well.

Mark them all as spam. I hope you have checked with your local police also and filed a report.

Step one. Send the messages to spam.

Step two. Contact the police, and take copies of the messages and any other information you have about the sender.

Do both of these today.

If they have ordered from you, you have their address and can contact the police local to them as well. It’s worth getting police involved if you can.

Yes to what everyone above says - if you have their address, definitely contact their local police department.

I know an ebay seller who had the same situation, and the police in the offender's town went and had a very serious discussion with them about what they were doing.  The harassment stopped after that.
