etsy asks taxpayer ID But i cant add it

Etsy asks Me to Confirm My seller info within 8 days to keep selling on Etsy
the info is taxpayer ID But When I try to do this, i cant its dose not allow me to add the taxpayer i cant even click the Legal shop information edit button

Etsy does not always play well with Ad Blockers or Popup blockers. If you are using them then disable for etsy.com, blockers often have a whitelist for sites you will allow.

Alternatively, try a different browser.

It always freaks me out when I get those notices. Talk about anxiety! All I had to update was my phone number and I thought they already had that but *shrug* I did it and the notice went away.

OP, if you are in the US, your taxpayer ID is your SS# or EIN# if you have one. I have both and my taxpayer into is showing the EIN, which is correct.

Etsy is sure throwing a lot at us today!

ETA: I am only showing my EIN but I've had to confirm my SS# when requesting support so at some point I added it but don't remember when!

no i am not in US they ask me for phone number too and do it 
but that taxpayer i cant even add it and that note on my dashboard that they will put my shop om vacation is very annoying and i am now the anxiety itself i am turning orange now

@welovecricuts: "... i am not in US ..." Then why is your shop location listed as 'New York, United States' ? This could very well the cause of your problems.

If you are in Egypt, your shop location is incorrect (a lie), it's showing as NY. 

I may have read somewhere that Etsy is cracking down on shops that show incorrect or misleading locations. That could be the problem. If you claim (via your shop location stated on your landing page) then you'd have either a SS# and/or an EIN. I assume these types of identification are different for each country and I'd also wage a bet that Etsy knows this and it's why you can't update.

I'd suggest you contact Etsy. They seem to finally be getting serious about this sort of thing and I have to say I'm glad.
