deactivated listing

This has to be a huge error, I received an email that Etsy deactivated a listing for review as possible drug paraphernalia. It's an antique 15k peridot and pearl necklace. The listing has been up for about a year. I searched the entire listing and can't find anything that relates to flagged terms. Has anyone had this happen?

Re: deactivated listing

I had 2 deactivated last week for the same reason; Etsy reactivated both of them yesterday. Neither of them were drug related, & only one had the word clip.

Re: deactivated listing

I'm having multiple listings deactivated as potential drug paraphernalia too when I only make glass ornaments in no way even remotely related to drugs. They get reinstated again but they have deactivated some of my best sellers several times. Out of curiosity I did a search on etsy and found pages of drug smoking paraphernalia that were obvious what they were with common drug terms with some being best sellers! So they're allowed to sell when some of us have listings not remotely related to drugs and are being targeted??

Re: deactivated listing

@BarbAshbeeGlassArt This is all automated. They are trying machine learning to eliminate problem listings instead of just looking for obvious issues. They save money and harm legit shops at the same time, which is Etsy's approach to almost everything these days.

Re: deactivated listing

I believe my count of drug paraphernalia related deactivations is currently 15. And that doesn't include the ones that were deactivated and reactivated 4 times each! Such fun.....

There are MANY words that will trigger a deactivation. Any word that is currently used as a name or strain for a drug, slang for a drug, etc. The item being made of glass or metal, a picture of the item that resembles something that could be drug-related, the word "green", the word "happy", the word "plant" and the list of innocent words goes on and on.

I am sure Etsy will reactive it after they review it.

Re: deactivated listing

And once again the "pot-bot" strikes. I was working on listing and re-listing garden stakes this morning because I received a message from Etsy that told me they had updated their systems and it wouldn't happen anymore. Well, it is obvious their system update did not work because I immediately had deactivations of my garden stakes for them being "drug paraphernalia"

Re: deactivated listing

I had one of my listings deactivated and reached out to Etsy to ask why and never got a response back but as I’m reading here you mention the word “green”. That was the color of the item they removed and of course was one of my color options.  Can’t get them to help with reactivating it.

Re: deactivated listing

Yeah they're harming legitimate shops while those blatantly selling drug-smoking gear and using obvious words like "stoner" are being untouched. Some shops are only selling drug paraphernalia. I thought all items were meant to be hand made or vintage too and many of these things are obviously mass produced in a factory. Frustrating in these difficult times when sales are down for economic reasons. It's impossible to know how much our sales are down due to our best sellers being deactivated.

Re: deactivated listing

Etsy have deactivated another listing for being drug paraphernalia, its a glass octopus and none of the words used are anywhere near drug slang. Meanwhile there are still thousands of listings under weed pipes. So frustrated!

Re: deactivated listing

I'm feeling the same, got yet another listing deactivated this morning while there are literally thousands of bongs for sale on etsy that say outright what they are and what they are for. Definitely feeling I'm being targeted for some reason

Re: deactivated listing

They'll reactivate it in a couple of days with no apology. It's bizarre that we can't use words like green but a quick search on etsy shows people are using words like bong, marijuana, weed pipe and stoner without a problem.
