Can anyone share their experience creating custom digital orders for customers who message this request? I may have made a rookie mistake in my case when this happened to me and I am looking for other more appropriate ways to do this.
I sell only digital products on my shop and i recently had a customer request a custom order. I used the Custom Order button and created the order however there was no way to distinguish whether the item was physical or digital. It gave me no choice but to select a processing time. I ended up having to send the item by email to the customer because there was no way for her to download the item that i had uploaded. After she confirmed she successfully received the item i marked it as complete and assumed all was well.
Recently I checked my Star Seller status and noticed the shipping was 0% complete due to that order. It seems that etsy understood it as being a physical item and was requiring a tracking which i had no idea was the case. I've tried to change the shipping carrier to 'not available' on the drop down list and once i save it, it says it was successful, however when i click back into the order the 'tracking' space is open as if to select it when i just selected 'not available'. I'm now stuck at 0% on time shipping when its not even applicable.
After talking to customer service they basically had no solution for me and told me i could not change the status of the order. So now i guess i just have to wait for that order to pass.
