Hi, can anyone clarify that if I receive a message to say I need to verify my email that this is genuine from Etsy?
I have received this email a few times today and then was talking with someone from technical support who said I needed to verify email and bank details.
read the ton of other articles on this.
scam scam scammy scam
How is this possible? It comes through on what I thought was Etsy email.
They also asked me to download a banking app called Revolut?
Take a look. You received a message on Etsy, not necessarily from Etsy. If it in the "From Etsy" section? If it is not, the person is pretending to be an Etsy employee.
Go back and look at your shop. If Etsy needs anything from you, Etsy puts an announcement on your shop dashboard.
It's like someone coming to your door in a police costume with a fake badge.
@whitesharkclothing: "... I thought was Etsy email." Was it a free standing eMail or just the eMail copy of an Etsy Message? If the latter, was the Message in the "From Etsy" section on your Messages page when checking messages using a browser? If not, they are a SCAM.
Real messages from Etsy are now going into their own section (labeled as "From Etsy") on your Messages page https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899 but apparently this is only true when using a browser.
I'm going to post three threads that all sellers should read.

Thank you. It’s good to read all your comments and advice. It was a scam as I have just had a lengthy conversation with my bank about a suspect transaction they stopped !!!
A scam, every single one you have received. Read the links Bradgoodell has provided in the post above, they will reveal a lot and what to watch out for, etc.
