Hello,

Etsy removed my Star Seller badge due to a policy violation. However, I appealed and proved that I was not at fault. The violating party retracted, and a note was added to my account indicating that the violation was withdrawn. Despite this, the message stating "the badge was removed due to a policy violation" still persists. I qualified for the badge again in December, but it has not been reinstated for either December or January due to this issue. What should I do in this situation?

This past year Etsy went about removing listings for possbly not being "handmade"...using image search to compare items listed here to images on sites like Temu, Alibaba, etc.

At the time they began their mission, Etsy had said that sellers could appeal, and the appeal would be processed promptly.  Items incorrectly removed would be reinstated where appropriate.  That has not been the case.  Nothing swift about it, if reviewed at all.

And, no process was put in place to expunge the record of neither the listing or shop.

It was a different Etsy seller who violated me. I resolved the situation, but do you mean that even if they say the violation has been removed, it isn’t actually removed? I contacted Etsy, and the relevant department said they would get back to me, but no one has responded. If I follow up on this issue and share the details again, can’t I get back the Star Seller status I deserve?

I'm guessing English is your second language.  Do you mean that another Etsy shop reported one of your listings for Intellectual Property infringement?

I think you're going to need to clarify.  Who "violated" who?  IP infringement?  Did you report them, or did they report you?

They violated me. I later appealed and had the violation retracted. Etsy reactivated my products that were in violation and noted that the violation was removed in my account. After 15-20 days, I became eligible to be a star seller in the new month. For this reason (I'm not sure because there was no response) they took my tag back. Should I go after my star sellers in this scenario? I'm trying to understand this.

First, remove any listings that might infinge on the Intellectual Property of others.

How do you know this?  To my knowledge, Etsy has never disclosed which infractions remain or do not remain on our shop records.  Who referenced a "note" on your account?

The support team responded by saying "we have withdrawn the violation and noted this on your account". From what I understand, if the number of violations the account has received is 3, for example, if 1 violation has been withdrawn, the total number of violations the account has received is noted on your account as 2. If I'm wrong, I'd appreciate it if you could correct me.

Sorry, the situation you're describing is confusing to me.  

One thing for sure is that the other sellers in this thread have pointed out your own shop's IP violations.  While you're waiting for answers about your star seller badge, you might seriously consider removing your infringing items that will bring more trouble to your business.

Contact Etsy via email and inquire about restoring the star seller as the violation was removed.

Others have had this happen too and they got star seller back after contact.

It's really sad in a way.  Quick to take away but slow to return like so many other services outside Etsy that do the same.

Unfortunately, it is.. When I contact the support department about this issue, they say the relevant team will get back to you, but I don't get any response. I will try to open a ticket again. Thanks.

Just a quick look at your shop. 

1. Right now, you have several IP-infringing items (Taylor Swift, TV host, YMCA, Smiley face, Superman logo, etc.)

2. "Your text here" is prohibited in the main images. From Etsy: "It is prohibited to use a photo of the blank product or a mockup with placeholder text (e.g. “Your Text Here”) as the main image."

3. Some of your POD items are tagged "vintage". Some use non-original images (like the noodle cat), which is not allowed on Etsy.

4. "Etsy reactivated my products that were in violation" -- Some of your reviews say "This listing is no longer available". It means those listings have not been reactivated.

Yeah, I'm seeing too many issues here.  Gonna be a big mess to clean-up.

Thanks for your feedback. The point where I received a violation has nothing to do with these. Since the violation was withdrawn, I wanted to get information about the issue. Thank you.
