Years on Etsy

Hi everyone,
I just noticed that Etsy is now showing how many years we’ve been on the platform, which is a nice touch—except mine appears to be off. I joined in March 10th, 2008, so this should mark 17 years, but it’s currently showing only 14.

I’ve reached out to Etsy Support and am still waiting to hear back, but I’m curious—has anyone else experienced the same thing or noticed a discrepancy?

Honestly, I find it frustrating and a bit insulting that the number doesn’t reflect the actual years I’ve been on Etsy. If Etsy is going to display our tenure, it should be accurate. Otherwise, what’s the point?  I encourage others to contact Etsy as well—maybe if enough of us speak up, they’ll correct the display or remove it altogether.   Let’s hope they listen!

Ha!  I've just noticed because of this thread, and checked.  Mine is 14 years too.  A lot less than the actual years.

Maybe that's how long Etsy can track back for each seller's oldest sale...I've been selling for longer than 14 years but when I look at my sold records, the oldest is from 2010.  That will make it 14 years? Just a thought...

Research shows 2011 is when Etsy went world wide international as well. Maybe that has something to do with it.

it's a kick in the teeth for all of us who built this site alongside the original crew. 

Also makes me look like a knob when what I say isn't backed up by etsy.

Hi there, I've been on Etsy since 2006 and it appears as if they are only willing to verify that Etsy has been around for 14 years. I came here to see if it was just a glitch on my page, but it seems that if you were on Etsy before 2010 it does not matter to them. I find it strange that they would go through the bother of coding inaccurate information at the very top of our pages. Incidentally, this is the first time I have ever posted here as I find this whole issue to be both baffling and honestly, a bit troublesome. I have been a loyal supporter of this website for just shy of 20 years now and it would be nice if they could, at the very least, acknowledge that.

Update: When I'm on the phone app it shows "17" years - on the desktop it shows "14 years" hopefully they will figure it out!

Been here since early 2007 on this shop, had a secondary start a few years later. Kind of insulting to have them say that giving everyone their correct years as a shop isn’t a priority right now when all the newer shops will have accurate years showing. Plus, the fact that they’ve obviously been getting paid by all of us original sellers a lot longer that 14 years.
