(I found a thread on here with people partly addressing it, though now I can't find it because the search function is awful, but whatever.)
I keep having listings that I have deactivated (such as odd products that I'm not sure are a good fit for the store right now) that automatically renew because of a bug where they're FOREVER locked onto auto-renew. I'm calling it a bug, because it's a stupid default setting, and you cannot change it as long as the item is inactive. You can only change details by activating the listing, which is in itself very frustrating (you can't even change the stock to zero).
I ask, is the ONLY way to change this setting to 1. activate the listing, then 2. go change the setting to manual, then 3. deactivating it again?
Have you tried deleting the inactive listings?
I know the deactivated listings shows the "auto renews on xx date" but it doesn't actually renew
I just checked my deactivated listings vs billing statements and everything that had "auto renews on xx date" in prior weeks were not billed any listing fees nor are they renewed
are you actually being billed for these deactivated listings? I think Etsy keeps that renew date language there in case you do want to reactivate it, and for some reason it will keep the original renewal date as if it were never deactivated. They should change that, though, and suspend those listing timers
My deactivated listings have never automatically renewed.
