Wrong items featured

When I load my storefront page, it flashes the correct featured items for a fraction of a second, then they change to 4 other items that are not featured at all. It is not the last items featured like when a page is cached, but 4 totally different items that never were featured at all.

It's been broken for months and months and months.

I've just given up trying.

it seems to think it is a late night gadget infomercial and wants you to set it and forget it and then come back in an hour to see if it really is cooked the way you want it.

The featured listings have tested a lot of sellers' patience for a while now. I usually just do it and trust it will be done... and then avoid it for a month.

You don't have to have featured items.

@AFinerCutWoodworking  We have to do that because, as has been mentioned before, etsy has only had the site for 19 years.  They need time to iron out the glitches.

I've experienced and seen quite a few posts about delayed updates for featured items ... but this is the first I've heard about random items being featured.

Very weird. Something to keep my eyes on.

Same thing is happening to me. It flashes my featured items for a split second then all I see is random items that I have not set to be featured. Very annoying. What is the point of having the option to flag listings as featured items if it doesn't work??

@AAANativeArts You can turn on "Feature This Listing / Showcase this listing at the top of your shop's homepage to make it stand out"   by editing

  the listing. It's near the bottom.

@SugarTaffySoap  Yes, I know how to feature an image. My point was it was not showing what I had chosen to have featured.

That has  since resolved since I made my original post.

Yet another Etsy glitch....

I was trying to do this the other day. I cleared out my queue and then did them one at a time. Set the first. Hold the save button for a good couple of seconds and then go check to see if it was right and go to the second featured item. And so on. It took a few tries for each item. Isn't this a function of Etsy plus that I'm paying for? They really don't seem to care. Those are the thoughts going through my head.  Once I watched a movie about a formerly lovely city that had aged or been bombed into a shell of itself. That thought went through my head too.

Try this.

After selecting your featured items in the shop editing mode, save the page, close the browser, then reopen it.  My browser automatically clears cookies, so you might need to do that manually.

Reopen your browser, then go to your shop manager page.

Go to your listing page.

Scroll through your listings and find the listings that you do not want highlighted. They should display a gold star under them.

Unselect the gold star for each listing you do not want featured.

Keep the gold stars on the photos you want to highlight. 

Close your browser again, clear cookies, etc.

Reopen your browser and go to your shop.

The unwanted highlighted photos should no longer display at the top of your shop.
