This website is literally a joke. I've been trying to register for 3 weeks now and they can't even get their story straight.
First, one of the documents they asked for was "Certificate of Status", which I had to pay for from the state, and then submit to Etsy Trust and Safety team. Once I submitted it, they suddenly changed their mind and said that the document doesn't meet some BS qualifications they wanted, and now suddenly that document has been removed from their list of accepted documents.
What the heck kind of professionalism is that? Like you guys really pull this kind of thing on us?
Furthermore, the button to edit shop information is unclickable. Esty support acknowledged that this was a bug on the site, and for THREE WEEKS this button has not been updated. How long does it take to get some coder to go fix a broken button in their website? This entire thing has been a huge waste of time because I can't even talk with a real human on the phone and have to wait 24 hours for an email response from these copy / paste morons.
This is the most unprofessional website I have ever seen in my entire life.
Update, I have lost any faith in the platform. The people responding to my support requests have NO IDEA what they are doing. This platform is the most ghetto trash platform I have ever tried to sign up for, absolutely garbage!
Buh-bye. Too bad, you got to use such a great shop name.
That is very frustrating for sure!
Unfortunately, as much as we would like to help,
there is nothing we can do, because we are all sellers,
just like you. So take a deep breath, and invite some
zen into your body ( zen : a state of calm attentiveness in
which one's actions are guided by intuition
rather than by conscious effort), and file a request
(which it sounds as though you have already done),
and then keep replying to the same email, don't open
new ones, as that just puts you to the back of the list
again. Eventually you may get it settled, but at Etsy,
nothing is done expediently. Patience, patience, patience.
And be polite in your requests... it won't hurt.
Oh wow, so sorry this is happening to you. Sign up is usually pretty straightforward but Etsy has many glitches. It's actually quite astounding for a multi-billion dollar company. I talked my friend into selling here and he still hasn't forgiven me. Hope it gets worked out for you! Totally get your frustration but you might want to reword your shop announcement before you contact them again. LOL
@PrintsOfTheForest Find a worthwhile site to sell on instead of Etsy.
That sucks!
Ranting won't resolve the problem and neither will your shop announcement...any one seeing that shop announcement has no reason to return as that blast of anger has set the tone for the type of person potential buyers would be dealing with and will now avoid your shop... I think you may have just thrown away any hope of doing business here...
Sorry hoping you will get a solution from support.
Well, good luck
