Hello, I keep getting suspicious emails in my Etsy inbox saying from the support team that I need to verify with my bank, I try clicking and it takes me away from your site. I have emailed too many times and never get a response from Etsy. I need to know if I am to verify my account for it says I'll be suspended. If I do not get a response from you from here I to my email then I will not verify my account and will keep reporting the emails as spam. Please help me with this
@RainsWayPhotography Keep spamming them. The scammers are trying to lure you off of Etsy. If you view your messages on desktop, only real legit messages from Etsy will show in the "From Etsy" section. All the rest are scams.
* spam option and the "from Etsy" section don't show in the Seller app for mobile yet.
When you send a request for help to Etsy, never keep on making new requests. Just respond to their answer saying you still need help in the event they didn't resolve your issue.
Sounds like scammers are trying to get your banking information. Do not respond and mark messages as spam.
These are SCAMS. When etsy needs any ID or financial information from you, it will be a notice on your dashboard. Not via message or email. The scammers are trying to take you offsite so you have no protection!
All real messages from etsy will be in the "from etsy" section of your inbox. You need to check on a computer or through a browser not on the app.
Please read through the forums and familiarize yourself with common scams.
It's absurd that you (and others) are getting bombarded with Messages from scammers. There has been an infestation of them here unfortunately, targeting new Sellers as well as seasoned ones. Oftentimes, they appear shortly after someone lists their first item/s. These thieves are using "Verification" as one of their scams, posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc. When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). *The "From Etsy" Folder is not on the App, however (you must use a browser instead).
Also for future (in case it happens to you), many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); if it isn't there, you have no Order. Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). And never click on links or engage with them.
Honestly, I don't get why Etsy can't nail these FAKE accounts who are impersonating Etsy Staff/Support, etc. It's happening way too often. Here is the Announcement about the "From Etsy" Folder (currently this is in past Announcements).
