Uploading Photos on new app

Since we're being forced to use the new app soon, I'm trying to get used to uploading on it. But it won't upload photos from my phone. It'll only accept a photo if I take it with the camera at the time of listing. This isn't going to work for me. I don't take my photos at the time of listing, I take them ahead of time. 

Is anyone else having this issue or knows of a way to fix it?

• Hi!  So totally understand the frustration!  I've stopped using the app altogether and am using my laptop and the old app on a phone that somehow still allows it, don't ask me how...I'm just grateful.  I'm confused as to how Etsy can force us to use this new app when it isn't even functioning correctly?   It takes 3x the effort to make a new post and does anyone else experience eye strain in trying to decipher what listing is showing up on the page???  Not only are the images so small they require a magnifying glass to see, it you're posting a new image to a listing it automatically saves the posted image so that you lose all your old photos!   TAKE PICS OF YOUR ORIGINAL LISTINGS BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES in case you don't like the way the new photos look!   Very unprofessional and very disappointing.

I'm having the same issue. I chatted with etsy support, but it was not helpful and the person didn't seem very knowledgeable. He left the chat while I was still trying to do the things he was asking me to do. I was not happy! It's so frustrating to spend the time creating items for my shop when I am having to spend so much time trying to find a way to enter listings.

I tried again this afternoon (CEST) and still unable to load photos.  I noticed an announcement at the bottom along the lines of variations cannot be added or edited at the moment.  Please go to Etsy.com.  So perhaps once they’ve sorted that it might work.  I thought they might have updated the app overnight after getting a Cha Ching in the early hours - it was an item sold 2 days ago!!!

Last night old app stopped working. I was feverishly trying to list new things before this was taken away. New app still doesn't work to upload photos and now I get the message pop-up to use etsy.com. What is the point of a dysfunctional "new" app? This is ridiculous.

Just today I messaged with Etsy about the issue of uploading photos from my phone. I never had this problem with the old app. I do all my Etsy business from my phone, so this is preventing me from adding my new items! I was told the Etsy team is working on the problem. Please hurry!

Same issue here. Does anyone have a list with all the ways to complain about this so Etsy will hopefully take this more seriously? I have no idea how this issue can not be their top priority and that all we get as a feedback is a standard "we are looking into it"-answer.

Plus: It's rather ridiculous that such a meaningless answer from Etsy counts as a solution in these forums.

Welp. I am back to NO PICTURES LOADING FROM NEW APP.

 All that money and no working product, ETSY?

Ain't nobody got time for this.

I found a solution!! On the app create your entire listing and save as a draft. Then go back to your draft and upload your pictures. I’ve tried it in two listings and so far it’s working. Good Luck fellow sellers!

I thought that might work as well Trinketmania!  However, I saved mine to draft and then went back into draft to upload photos and it still didn't work!  Finally I got 2 photos to load, but no more than that would load!  This is crazy!!!

yup happening to me also..time is money so ..no reason whu this cant be figured out by now..no time for this probably just go to a different selling app.... all of you should as well...maybe if we all go the issue will get resolved in a timely manner for the next person wasting almost 2 entire days with this

I am curious that I don't see anything in the media about this problem with Etsy, which we all know is a critical issue. It seems when google, Facebook,  etc have technical difficulties with their apps I see SOMETHING in the media about it. How is there nothing out there?

Also, I keep hitting that feedback button on the app's home screen and let them know several times a day how unhappy I am with this. So far Etsy does not even seem to be taking any accountability as I personally , nor in the media, have heard from them.

How are sales for anyone? Same, better, less?

I’ll try today. I think I’ve tried it already. But I’ll let you know.  So you are going to have to copy a listing with existing photos. Cause it won’t allow a listing with no photos.

I have had this problem since Etsy launched the app. I have emailed them 7 or more times and still have no response. SO annoying!

Etsy support rang me yesterday and I said that there were quite a few of us with the same problem on the new app. I said to look at the forum and all the complaints. They said yes they will look into it.....HO HUM I've been telling them about this since they launched the app. Not holding my breath but honestly you would think they would be interested in fixing it as it's holding us all up from listing objects which would mean they earn more money.

Just listed 2 items.  Took hours.  App will only load photos one at a time, if at all - the dreaded spinning wheel.  I can copy a listing, delete all photos except one, but cannot upload.  So save as draft, back to Etsy.com and upload.  At least the new version will upload photos in batches.  And the shop section has disappeared on Etsy.com so back to the app to move photos about and add the section.  This is getting very very frustrating.

Same here. New app still won't upload photos. About a week ago I did successfully upload ONE photo and then it never worked again. So it is possible. I have to go back and forth from my laptop to etsy.com on my IPhone to create a new listing or add photos. It is a ridiculous time consuming process.

As of June 7th, I still cannot upload photos.  I've tried the sellers app and at Etsy.com.  I get the same response: Unable to add photos, if this keeps happening, contact support.  Super frustrating!!
