Uploading Photos on new app

Since we're being forced to use the new app soon, I'm trying to get used to uploading on it. But it won't upload photos from my phone. It'll only accept a photo if I take it with the camera at the time of listing. This isn't going to work for me. I don't take my photos at the time of listing, I take them ahead of time. 

Is anyone else having this issue or knows of a way to fix it?

I’m leaving negative feedback every day on the App. I tried updating the photos on a listing today on my iPad.  Couldn’t upload the new ones. The dreaded spinning wheel.  Had to go to .com and load one at a time which took ages, then go back to the App and move them about as .com wouldn’t let me.  Why the hell did they delete the old app!!!  

I am loathe to list anything else at the moment as it takes so long.  What used to take minutes now takes an hour.

Etsy will not support us and it’s us that provide their income.  I am furious!

I totally agree with you it's infuriating. I have not the patience to spend hours listing things, I would rather be in my garden. I can't understand why they would not fix this - its essential to their growth and it's unbelievable they are unaware of it.

I am having the same problem.  A lot of my listings are the same item but in different colors.  Most of the time I copy a listing and change the pictures that I take with my phone.  I have wasted all afternoon trying to list one item.  I just gave up.

How did you get the old app? I have been putting off listing more items because I did not want to download the new app but today I finally did because I could not use my old app and now I am having the same problem - won't upload photos and says to contact Etsy support!

Yes same problem pictures will not upload on the new app. Very frustrating

I have not been able to use the new app at all to upload photos. I have been trying every day to see if this is fixed yet, and reporting my frustration daily. Today I was finally able to upload ONE photo out of 12 tries. My feeling of victory was short-lived however. Because since then I have not been able to upload any more. Maybe this is a tiny glimmer of hope?

I managed to upload one photo today and that was it.  Had to save as draft and then edit on Etsy.com.  It’s soooo frustrating.

I am having the same issue. I was able to upload one set of photos (from iPad) only when I started a brand new listing, instead of copying an existing listing. Another time I was able to upload 3 photos but only one at a time, then none after that. But like 10 other attempts have just failed. Please fix this Etsy, I need listing to be smooth.

Like all you other Sellers, I was very happily listing new items every few days, getting interest, selling stuff, no problem, using the OLD APP - quick and easy!

Today - May 26th 2023, I tried to do a new listing on the NEW APP - absolutely useless, I tried to load 10 photos in one go, nada!  I tried them one at a time, some loaded, some didn’t, couldn’t sort it out.

contacted online chat, got no information other than ‘the Etsy Team are working on it’  - completely useless waste of time - not her fault - told me to use the website.

I don’t have a pc, I use an iPad.  So, I tried the www.etsy.com and saw it has a New Streamlined Super Version - tried that - photos didn’t load.   Went back to the old original version - guess what?  Photos wouldn’t load !!!!  

How can I sell stuff if I can’t show what it is?  Reading other Seller’s experiences and attempts to overcome this issue, I am astonished to find that these photo loading problems have been ongoing for months!!!!

what are they doing for goodness sake?!   Are we going to lose sales?  You betcha!  Will we be compensated…….?

surely as Sellers we must have some leverage - any ideas anyone?

I feel like a broken record at this point. Exact same issues you are having.  I also was listing every few days.  Same answer from support.  I have items laying on my table right now - unlisted - as it is so complicated and unreliable. I'm so frustrated...

I moved to Mercari and created a storefront until Etsy resolves this issue.

This new app sucks. Why was it changed! So frustrating!!!!! I too CANNOT add or upload pictures from my phone. I have to email to myself, get on my computer, save the pictures and add from there. Such a waste of time and pain in the a$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try plugging your phone via USB cord/port into your computer.  You can then save the pics from  your phone.  Will be easier than emailing them.

I cannot load photos from my camera either.  I am not even going to try because I have already wasted so much time on this problem.  No new stuff going into my shop now.

When I open the app.there is a feedback button to which I have been leaving negative feedback about this problem. I also left negative feedback on in the app store. Not only are we losing business, but Etsy will too.

This is so very frustrating.  I can't get anything to upload on my iPhone.  I feel sort of lost in the weeds with the rest of you fine folks.

I'm having the same issue. Why has this daft app been forced on everyone if key features like this are clearly not functioning?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve only posted 2 items since they locked us out from the Orange app. I don’t have time to go to a desktop/laptop to post. I use my iPhone. When I try to get to web browser site. The app highjacks me and opens the blue app it never did this when we only had the Orange app as I use to use browser site and app together. Very frustrating!!!

Can't upload any photos either using the app, and yes, that app hijack happens to me too.  i got round it by tapping letter by letter the shop homepage url into google search - what a pain....It is still quicker than connecting my phone physically to my laptop which with the new 'improved' listing page also takes forever to load the photos.  Like others have mentioned, I have items waiting to be listed, but the faff and extra time it takes puts me off starting the now more tedious than ever chore!

I’ve just set up a store on Mercari until Etsy fixes this fiasco of a new app. It took me seconds to post on Mercari app and it appears fees are less. Now, I just need to direct customers to my new storefront. Good Luck everyone!
