Updating courier after 72 hours

I’m needing help… I have always used Canada Post when shipping items thru Etsy. Now that they are on strike I’ve found an alternate company to deliver my packages (Stallion) I have changed all my listings to reflect this courier. I did notice on some when I had entered tracking# it would default to FedEx. So I went in and edited those sales. But just noticed recently that every one of my sales has defaulted it DHL even though I have set it up as Stallion. Every single one of my listings are doing this now. My question is: even though the tracking# is correct a lot of my listings still show in transit because the courier was defaulted by Etsy to DHL. I have messaged my customers to let them know as their packages are on the way. Is there any way the courier company can be changed after the 72 hours? I had no idea that I had to go in and double check the courier company again for every single sale after it was set up properly as Etsy is doing this default on its own. Any help would be appreciated. Also, does this affect my star seller status even though the orders were shipped on time and are in transit/delivered? Thank you so much.

Re: Updating courier after 72 hours

This glitch has been going on for several years, even when you put the right tracking and courier name, it sometimes has a habit of switching to another courier after you clicked complete.

It is best to double check the tracking details within 24hrs, so that if it does change, you can still edit. (it never automatically changed after correcting it once)

Re: Updating courier after 72 hours

Thank you for your response but I wasn’t aware of this as I always shipped thru Canada Post. Is there any way these can be changed after the 72 hour mark? As now I know this I have been checking but would like to correct the ones that have been changed on me.

@BouquetBeanies: "Is there any way these can be changed after the 72 hour mark?" Unfortunately no. Perhaps support could correct the underlying data but Etsy will probably take the position that you had 72 hours to check and correct it yourself.

That’s awful when I didn’t even know this was an issue. You would think if you entered the correct shipping carrier Etsy would actually put what you have in your shipping profile instead of replacing it with random carriers in hopes that you catch it within the time they allow.

Re: Updating courier after 72 hours

It doesn't happen often enough for Etsy to try and fix.  Or it might be something that really cannot be fixed.  Yes there are things in the computer world that can't be fixed.

Even with Canada Post it always pays just to glance at orders to see if anything is amiss.  I do that with my orders for USPS.

It just pays to scan quickly to catch any aberant issues.

Re: Updating courier after 72 hours

Stallion Express is in the drop down of shippers.  Did you use that and enter the order number, not the tracking number which is a USPS number which Canada sellers don`t have that in the drop down.  I have been using Stallion for two years and have never had that happen.  Once you choose STallion from the drop down it is automatically there next time you mark an order shipped.

Re: Updating courier after 72 hours

I do have stallion selected (for shipping and drop down) and when I go in to double check (now that I know to do this) every single one is showing DHL or FedEx. And I have to edit tracking. So frustrating.

Re: Updating courier after 72 hours

Which tracking number are you using?  There are two.  One is a shorter number with letters.  The one underneath is a much longer number.  The shorter number on top is the Stallion number.  Enter that one for tracking.
