Currency/Country Settings issue

Hi, over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed that the currency/country keeps changing to the USA, when I live, and have always lived in the UK.  I change it back to the UK, which initially works, but then it reverts back to the USA time and time again (basically, all my items are displayed in dollars not pounds).  I've had my shop for several years, and I'm not aware of this ever happening before.  Is anybody aware of a technical problem at the moment, or does this need reporting to Etsy?

Re: Currency/Country Settings issue

This is happening to me as well. I'm in Australia, and our currency keeps flipping to USD. Sometimes I've been able to revert it back with the little location/currency button on the listing pages, but at the moment it is stuck - the button doesn't work at all.

Re: Currency/Country Settings issue

if you are accessing through the app, it often picks up the default from the phone settings

if you change between laptop and phone, you have to change it with both logged in, for it to sync

The phone setting has not changed - it has stayed on AUD. It is just the PC I use that has flipped to USD.

What browser are you using? Do the settings stay in place until you close down the browser and then re-start it and visit Etsy again?

It might be that the browser or browser extensions or something has updated and is causing the cookie to be cleared that stores the currency/country choice setting.

Hi, I have just checked your shop and it is showing £ for me - but I am in the UK too.

Re: Currency/Country Settings issue

Thanks for the help everyone.  I remembered that I'd uploaded the Etsy app on my new phone, and when I checked it, the default setting was in USD, so changed it and everything now seems fine.  It does seem strange though that if your PC is set on the correct currency, the app on your phone seems to overide it.

I'm having a similar problem.  Although my shop is still displaying prices in UK £ my sales invoices are all in US $

@NorthernBuzzCreative @NeatEats : It may be that which ever one you set last becomes the *default* for you, particularly if you are logged into the same account on both devices.

Re: Currency/Country Settings issue

Hi everyone! I’ve been having this problem for the last week or so on my UK-based shop - it kept changing itself to euros (€) and even after I went on to the Etsy website and changed it back to GBP (£), it would just revert back to euros (€) again after a little while. Not sure how and why it started to begin with, but I do think I have found out how to fix it. Instead of changing it back to GBP (£) on the website, I read that it could be the Etsy app settings overriding the changes I’ve made on the Etsy website. I went into the App’s settings and changed it there instead and it seems to have fixed it. Hope this helps anyone else having a similar/same problem!
