I am unable to update my banking information as requested by Etsy through Plaid. Everytime I try to enter my account info it won't accept it even though I am entering the correct information. Anyone else having this issue?
This is all I can find in the Help Center as of right now.
You may have to give your bank account number off of a statement, rather than a number that you usually use, there may be leading zeros
One thing a banker told me was that if your acct. doesn't have ten digits then you add enough 0's at the beginning to make ten. He said that some programs won't recognize an acct. unless there are at least ten digits in it.
So far as the e-mailing goes (see my earlier post) I won't say it'll happen quickly, but it will eventually happen. I started in the morning, and I would send an e-mail, and then go some stuff. Come back later and check for a reply, and so on. It sometimes took a while between responses, but Obed stayed with it all day until we were straight. Just be patient.
Anybody else find it odd that they came up with this demand right as we're getting into the the Christmas looking (and hopefully buying) season?
This is the second tranche,
There was a whole bunch needed verifying earlier in the year, they started with USA, then moved on to UK and Canada, then other countries.
The Philippines were particularly problematical because of the difference in name and business account.
..... hopefully, they will be finished with this tranche in the next month, and the next lot won't be until after Christmas (not holding my breath though)
they have a lot to verify, and seem to be doing it in batches, rather than all at once, so no, this is a quiet time for many shops, and one of the better times to do it for most

I feel like they just want my account suspended.
they won’t email me back, plaid sent the verification deposits to a totally random account that isn’t mine, and Etsy doesn’t give me the uptown to update my bank info. The update button isn’t there. I thought maybe if I re enter my account info plaid will send it out again. But nope I can’t. So my account will be suspended tomorrow on the 5th
I didn't receive the email yet from Etsy, but I went ahead anyway and processed Plaid. It was super easy doing it manually. In my Payment Settings I'm instructed to wait 3-5 days then check my account for 2 "very small deposits" and enter them in Payments Settings. I read this Etsy link first:
It might be easy but many of us are getting error messages making it so that we cannot finish the process. Those who try connecting too many times due to this error get their accounts suspended. And yes, I know I am putting the numbers in correctly
I'm tired of calling my bank every day to see if the two small deposits were made. I don't do online banking and so luckily I had no user name or password to give them to get hacked. But now I have to bug the bank every day to see if it has gone through so I can get my money. It's been 5 days. No deposits yet. And by the way, the bank never heard of Plaid. That gives me confidence, lol.
My issue is Plaid sent a verification code and deposit to an account that does not belong to me. A bank account I’ve never had. My other issue is Etsy will not let me update my bank info. The update button literally isn’t there anywhere!!
Also my last issue is Etsy will not respond to my emails about this and my account is about to be suspended tomorrow for something they messed up
That’s weird. How were you able to find out they sent the deposits to an account that doesn’t belong to you? Have you tried going to your Payment Settings under Finance on Shop Manager? The button should be there. I think it was yellow if I remember correctly. If that doesn’t work maybe you need to have Etsy “unlink” your bank account so you can re-submit it. To do that, another thread recommended opening a ticket with Etsy by going to Community and Help and click on your avatar. Then enter your request to unlink your account so you can start fresh. Or request a callback. Others have said that’s the quickest way to get things fixed.
I had a little hiccup entering my account number and it turned out the full name on my bank account wasn’t matching the name on my Legal and Tax info on file with Etsy. It was missing my middle initial and that’s all I had to do to get it to work.
I had the same issue. I called my bank and there were 4 zeros at the beginning of my account number. It worked and I successfully completed the process
@blueoceancandleco any updates ? Did you have success? I can only send emails to etsy with not response. I cant seem to get any phone support
OH, I got phone support.....but no help....then he stayed in the screen share and hacked our bank and paypal and everything......stole THOUSANDS!
there is no phone number to call etsy support,
if you searched for one, and used one you found searching on the internet, it was a scammer number, it was not etsy

Mine isn’t going through either.
I am having the same problem and now etsy tells me I'll no longer be getting paid. How do we get help? I have been searching every way I know how for a chat function or a phone number.
been trying to update my bank account and EIN number since this summer....can't find anywhere to update the bank account, and Etsy knows better than the IRS what our EIN is.....
In case it helps anyone - I had the exact same issue and I fixed it by padding the account number with zeroes at the front. Ex. if it says your account number should be 7-10 digits (for example), and yours is 7, then add three 0s at the front to make it 10
