Unverified Taxpayer Information...HELP!!!

I've sold on Etsy for almost 11 years and yesterday my shop was frozen/suspended due to unverified tax information. 

Under the section "Legal Shop Information" I changed my legal shop name from my business name to my personal name. ( I shouldn't have done that I suppose) Now it says pending verification and there is no way to alter or cancel this.

I still have a banner that says "verify your new name within 59 days to get paid." I submitted my ID and I show that my government-issued personal ID has been verified.

If my ID has been verified, then why is it still being asked for?

I received a call from Etsy and was told my issue may be resolved today but to wait until tomorrow to see if anything changes.

I need this issue resolved.  Please help!

I am having the exact same problem.  My shop has been down for 2 days now for id verification.  I've contacted them several times but my business is still closed.  I have been with ETSY a long time just like you.  So sorry it is happening to you.  Will we lose our place in the listings due to this close?  I also used my business name instead of mine.0

My shop is finally up.  I had to edit my taxpayer info. 

Click Edit, Select Non Legal Name; type the name matching your driver license then, I select Tax ID, and used SS#. 

**Before I had my middle initial. 

This worked for me, it took 24 to 48 hrs.

Same here. 12 years on Etsy, never a single issue but was "suspended" yesterday with all listings deactivated due to a tax information issue. I have contacted Etsy and am now on my ninth, (9th!) auto reply from phoney baloney, trust and safety person(s) that keeps telling me to upload my identity verification- which I have done 9 times. My information has always been accurate, but I too, tried to change my shop owner info since that seemed to be their issue- and now it's listed as "pending" and I can do nothing. It is no mystery why so many quality sellers have bailed on Etsy in the last 2 years.

Look at the OP's solution: seems Etsy has switched business name and legal name for some sellers, so the data doesn't match anymore.

I can’t edit any previous information that was entered. It says “ pending verification “

I saw another post where the shop had this pending verification notice for 3 months.

Does your ID show as verified towards the bottom of the page under legal documents?

Same situation here. Logged in Monday morning with a temporarily frozen account. I’ve been selling on Etsy for 8 years and have grossed over seven figures since opening my Etsy shop. I would have appreciated at least a warning that additional information was needed on my account - even just a pause on deposits would have been fine. Now I cannot accept new orders or create labels for orders that are now overdue. The first Etsy support rep that I spoke to gave me incorrect advice and now I have to wait for Etsy trust and safety to email me to deny the provided information so I can cancel the request and then resubmit the proper information. For a company that earns tens of thousands of dollars a year from my Etsy fees PLUS uses my products and their photos in Etsy ads, in their emails, on the front page of Etsy, and on their instagram I am beyond appalled by their lack of proper service. I’ve spoken to 4 reps in the past two days and every single one of them has told me something completely different. They certainly have high expectation for sellers and want us promptly shipping orders and replying to messages within 24 hours regardless the day of the week but they can take their time providing assistance while my business is now on pause until I get an email from a team in Etsy that doesn’t even have a phone number or way of contacting directly. This whole situated could be resolved within a day if they had a real human available to assist over the phone to help with verification.

I'm having the same problem. I've been selling on Etsy for 13 years. My shop was shut down on Monday with no warning. I also had my business listed as my shop name instead of my name. I changed it on Monday, and it's still "pending verification." How long could it take? Thank goodness I ship using Pirate ship, or I wouldn't have been able to ship my orders on time.

I don’t know if this will make a difference or not….but for me, it seemed to work.

Yesterday, I received the yellow notice even though I am already verified. Up loaded through the dashboard, then found “the secure documents upload” page  uploaded again and that moved things along rather quick. I received an email by the evening…..I “cropped” my id and they don’t accept that. So this morning, I uploaded on the same page (as per email recommendation) and just an hour ago I got the green light.

You can always try it again…I leave a lovely note for them.

The same thing happened to me last Monday. After talking to a help desk rep, I got an email from Etsy asking for my full name and DOB. After providing that, they said my shop was up and running but it is not. All the taxpayer info is correct but now I can’t accept payments because I need to provide a taxpayer ID. It’s like a vicious circle. Now all my listings have disappeared as well. Not sure what else to do! All the info is correct and it all says verified!

I'm having this issue too. Really wish Etsy would make this process smoother. I'm certain the info I've entered is correct. Very frustrating.

Yep, it happened to us a little over two weeks ago. They unsuspended our shop a couple of days later after we sent an email. However, I still have the banner saying I need to verify my "new name" and upload a government-issued ID. I've tried uploading my driver's license seven times now, and nothing. I reached out to them again five days ago, still no response.
