I would like to offer my customers files in .STL format for 3D printing.
I have created files in .stl format.
When I try to upload the file, I get a message that I should upload the file in a format accepted by Etsy such as .stl.
I don't know what to do.
I hope someone here can help me.

I don't upload digital files on Etsy, but I've been breaking computers for a lot of years . . .
I don't know if this is the problem but it could be an incorrect error message, due to something else wrong with the filename. Check the filename, any punctuation characters or non-English characters? also . . . File size too big? Space character after the .stl (I have seen that as a problem on other software, it is hard to find as you can't see a space character on the end of text, it was inserted by autofill)?
If all else fails, try putting the .stl file in a zip and uploading the zip.

Did you ever get an answer on this? I’ve dealt with Etsy support and they havnt even been able to resolve my issue
Can you see the irony in this screenshot?
Hmm - seems I do not have permissions to upload an image here!
The screenshot is stating "Please upload files that end in .bmp, .doc, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .mobi, .mov, .mp3, .mpeg, .pdf, .png, .psp, .rtf, .stl, .txt, .zip, .ePUB, or .iBook".
This is in response to trying upload an STL file.
I think someone needs to finish quality testing the upload routine!
I'm having the same issue - Etsy says try rebooting your computer....really thanks.
Anyway I have not had any help being offered from Etsy - I've cleaned the cache, tried a different browser, different computer, and any other suggestions.
Anyone have a thought?
@MWReclaimed have you checked the file size or any of the other suggestions from the above comments?
@MWReclaimed there are many bugs on Etsy. Sometimes we have to use a 'workaround'. In this case the solution is to upload a zipped file.
same thing for me, Im trying to upload a less than 1mb .STL file with the name 1013 and I get this error ...
@Toolitek have you tried uploading a zipped file as already suggested in this thread?
Yes it work when zipped but thats an incovinience for the customer and shop manager
@Toolitek thanks for letting us know the zipped file works as a workaround to the problem.
I know it's annoying, but it only takes a few seconds to zip a file before uploading - you could use it as an opportunity to include a separate instruction file with contact details for future reference.
I'm having this exact same problem, and my file is smaller than 20MG. Is there a solution for this yet?
@WilhelmsCrafts Have you tried zipping the file first? This seems to have worked for other sellers.
Thank you, that worked for me! I initially misunderstood and thought that was only for larger files, but I see now that it seems to be the only work around even for a single file.
UPDATE: Was accidentally logged into my other account. This is Wilhelm lol. Thank you for the help!
I also sell my files in stl format and as far as I know stl is mandatory packaging in
archive, but one archive can contain one or more files of any 3D format with a size of no more than 20 MB and no more than 5 archive files in one listing,
and this is not a workaround, but the only option to post 3D files in a format, or you can pack the Google Drive link into a zip file, where you can prepare your 3D files of any type, specified format and size.
same happens for me but it will accept me 3mf file that not on the list
