Unable to activate listing from new editor

Using Firefox 126.0.1. Desktop.

I edit an inactive listing and go to activate and publish. The popup "Activate Listing?" appears and when I go to click the activate butto system popup appears saying "www.Etsy.com This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave — information you’ve entered may not be saved." If I click on continue I am back on the etsy popup and clicking on activate pings the system popup again. Leaving page results in all edits being lost, but the item gets activated.

So once the listing it activated the changes can be made. But it is frustrating to loose the edits and have to do them again.

But you are not alone in having problems with the new form.

Re: Unable to activate listing from new editor

Worked for me, not for others - try clicking the grey gear icon from the Listings Manager page. and select activate, renew, etc.  If that works, hopefully you'll then be able to click the listing to edit, if needed.  That's the workaround I've needed to resort to recently.  I saw another Forums thread where an Admin acknowledged the issue, and said Etsy is working on a fix.

* Come back to let us know if that worked for you, @Taitaya

Re: Unable to activate listing from new editor

Another work around I've learned from another seller is to renew from sold item listing at order page then edit.  I will try the gray gear next time.  I just renew everything I needed by going to sold order page, then found your comment.   Thank you for sharing and it really helps to read everyone's post.

@PillowDetails I tried your gray gear workaround and It worked!  Thank you!

I know this is not the perfect running but at least I don't have to worry about the day when old listing tool is retiring.

Re: Unable to activate listing from new editor

I have the same issue and it's a pain with constantly updating over 6000 listings. I don't care that it actually saves it when you 'leave', it requires you to click to confirm.  Did I say pain?

Same problem here. I have to activate before editing, or it won't publish at all. When I choose to "leave", it opens a new window to start over again, and again, and again....

Re: Unable to activate listing from new editor

I decided to try it today, to reactivate an inactive listing (on an item I had made changes to and wanted to add new photos to, etc.).

At first I thought that, while I don't especially like it, its not as horrible as I expected it to be. But that was before I got all finished and found it didn't really do anything. My listing was exactly as before I started. Ok, try again, while the stuff I did was fresh in my mind. I was super careful to look for anywhere I had to save something, but I was very confused already, with it telling me I had 7 unsaved things, and then 4, and then that it might not save my changes if I left. Tried twice, listing is still putting all my old info and photos back into my shop.

Now it has me doubting myself, so I'm going to reread this whole thread and see if I'm missing something. But really, it shouldn't be this hard.....I've been listing and editing for years already, and now I can't make some simple little adjustments to one of my listings? How am I ever supposed to trust that I can just type out my info and have it work the first time without having to do it over and over?  With the old form, I could have done my changes in less than 5 minutes! Grrrrrr.....

UPDATE: Ok, after a little break and reading here, I tried again. I thought I did just what I did before and expected the same results, but this time it worked. So....next time I'll be just as confused, I guess, since I'm not sure what I even did.

Oh yeah, and one more thing, at one point it was trying to charge me 20 cents again for listing this, when I was just updating a listing that won't expire until August. Ugh.
