I have contacted Etsy Support on this but unsure that the message is getting through so am in hopes Support picks it up here. I continually am being overcharged on my USPS Flat Rate shipping. I use Flat Rate so that the price point is consistent as I sell heavier products. Yet many seem to go through at a higher rate. EXAMPLE: Shipped today several orders and one random label I was charged $16.65. It is supposed to be the USPS price of $15.80. I went in and entered the address into the USPS website for purchase and it comes up at the correct rate of $15.80. Sooooo, there should NOT be a discrepancy here on Etsy for it.
The different charges have nothing to do with box dimensions or weight. It is FLAT RATE. If it fits - it ships for ONE price!
ETSY Please fix this as I really don't want to have to go "off site" for labels you want to over-charge me on.
Thank you.
If you use Etsy and/or other marketplace sites / online postage providers to print postage then PM flat rate is NOT one price.
Again it depends on the zip code.
Etsy is not going to do anything about this.
Ebay actually announced this in Sept 2024 (Etsy never did as far as I know).
USPS® Rate Changes Effective September 16, 2024
Effective September 16, 2024, USPS will increase rates for package delivery to select zip codes.
Although this increase affects a very low percentage of transactions on ebay.com, you may see a higher shipping label cost for some locations.
The increase is for weight-based and cubic packages up to 20 lbs. for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Flat Rate, and Ground Advantage delivery to these zip codes.
If you go to the eBay link above or click on the "zip codes" link above, you'll get a page that has ALL the affected zip codes where FR is higher..
I can put my zip and ANY zip on from that long list (over 17,000) and get higher rates for the PM FR options.
And these zip codes are from close by to zip codes across the USA.
@vintageNCtreasures haha... well then I guess I will purchase those random labels on USPS then. I got refunds on each transaction from Etsy btw.
